Sorry but he's been inactive. We've had 5 active receivers each week. He hasn't played so he might have been on the practice squad. One of the 5 is going to be traded , released or go inactive.

Trade is made in "win 2020 super bowl" mode, because all 30+ aged receivers have begun their exponential fall from elite athleticism.

Sad to say, but this.
He's been through a ton off the field and it makes you want to cheer for him, but he leaves you wanting more as a WR. At 28yo he is who he is and he won't suddenly become useful after all these years in the league. He's a track star playing WR, but we don't even take a bunch of shots with him because it's too risky. If you're a one trick pony, you need to at least be great at that trick. Look at Philip Dorsett.
Then what happens to Kittle in the middle when Quise isnt forcing Safeties to respect the deep pass?
Allot of those underneath crossing routes are open because of Goodwin, whether he makes the play or not teams know that if they dont respect his speed Kyle is gonna see it and get the ball to him. Cant remember whether it was JohnnyDel or THL but they recently showed how MG is still making big contributions to this offense even when the ball isnt in his hands.
Sanders is a better deep threat than Goodwin. He may not be as fast, but being a good deep threat isn't only about having 4.2 speed. Sanders can take you deep and can run a full route tree to help disguise his routes, making him even more dangerous downfield.
Goodwin shouldn't be kept on the roster solely to be a decoy.

was he unhappy or something? whats the backstory with him
He went from a team near the bottom of the league to an undefeated team, with one of the best offensive minds in the game calling plays.

I feel like it's a great move and seems like we are going all in for a superbowl. If Kyle and John think we are only a WR away then gi for it. The draft is what loser teams look forward to, we can win now and they're trying to make that happen. Sanders probably has a few good years left and by then our young guys will be ready. Good pick up

Like the aggressiveness of the Front Office to make a run at a championship. We will probably trade back in round 1 in the draft to try & recoup some picks. I don't care at this point just really like attacking our weakness with injuries & no one stepping up yet. Great job Lynch & Peters

Bad trade. And I've supported almost all of Lynch and Shanahan's moves, but this dude is old, short, and coming off a serious injury. Past his prime.

Can't win it all playing it safe. Sometimes, you got to gamble.

One thing I like about him is he is aggressive. Pettis should learn how to be close to this aggressive. I'm hoping his passion rubs off on some of the other players.

We will have so many WRs at the end of the year, we could probably package one in a trade this offseason and get a 3rd round pick back (or maybe even a 2nd depending on players/picks involved)

is it realistic to worry about the 49ers or (Jimmy) trying to force stuff to him to validate this big move? does this add any pressure to Jimmy you think? or the play calling?

Not to nitpick. But one of the best offensive minds? The best. And 100% not biased. Lol.
