Hello everyone. I was the one who requested the mods to start this thread.
I find a basic distinction between mobile and dual threat QBs. Mobile are the ones who are comfortable out of pocket and dual threat have a proper rush threat. Most dual threat QBs are mobile but not vice versa.
AR12 is a prime example. He has excellent mobility to avoid sacks by getting out of pocket. In fact he's better out of pocket than in, but apart from minor runs he's not a proper rush threat like Newton, Vick it Lamar.
I was going by posts in match thread and found it curious that many here deem him not mobile (which I vehemently disagree). He a different type compared to Russell, Lamar and Kyler....but that does make him any less lethal.
I consider AR12 as the most lethal QB your team has faced till now...only Russell Wilson is at par.
Now this is not a statement guaranteeing a GB win, but still a fact nevertheless.

I firmly believe this Sunday will show the bolded statement to be false (if by lethal you mean in terms of production versus the 49ers' defense).

What was that one guy we had? He stepped to Singletary for a half second and almost got dropped. Lol Smith (bleck) or something.

Not when you have a great pass rush. Getting to a QB with 4 guys, has always been the achilles heel of great pocket passers.

I think you forget he was pegged for the 9ers to draft #1 overall. We know his mobility quite well, sir.

The f*kin draft sheet had Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers basically dead even in every stat but Alex scored just a tad higher in the wonderlic.
Wtf else did you want the coaches to do?Draft down and grab both?
AR12 as you call him would've regressed with that niners team. No oline at all. No running game.No wr threat. No defense other than Julian Peterson.

Troy Smith and Warren Moon have been mentioned in this thread...
Warren could move but he was not a "mobile" QB.
Troy must've been the slowest Brotha QB under 6'0 I've ever seen.
I think some are just associating Mobile QB with Black QBs.
s**t, Ryan Tannahill and Marcus Mariota should be mentioned before those guys.

Before any of the combine stuff Rodgers was pegged to us with no "ifs" about Alex. That's what it was,...just saying.

That 2010 season was such an embarrassment. High expectations following a good 2009 season and no Kurt Warner in the desert any longer... and we start out 0-5, first ever game on SNF and our home crowd boos Alex while yelling we want Carr, Troy/Singletary fighting. Just a mess

Ah yes, the good ol' days...
Remember when we got excited about JT O'Sullivan for a couple weeks during that Nolan/Singletary transition?
I've always said, if you want a textbook way to ruin a QB, look at how the 49ers handled Alex Smith's first 4 years.
Those days make me so thankful for Shanahan and Garoppolo.

Absolutely. Warren Moon was a pure pocket passer.

Ya and then someone also said the league figured him out quickly, even though he had a very good career and is in the HOF lol.
