When you draft players your projecting, Mahomes is doing great in the wco. Shanahans lack of vision is costing him big time.

I'd like to thank Alex Smith for being there and helping him out with that, the first year or two.

Sarcasm I assume?
the only time a qb should run is when the man coverage is too good IMHO.

The league is passing you and many others by. If you're super worried about injury I kinda get it, but at the same time what young pure pocket passer is going to replace a guy like Jackson?

That Finley dude from the Bengals? Darnold? Rosen?......Yeah, give me Kyler/Watson/Wilson/Jackson with a chance of injury everyday and twice on Sunday over those awesome young pocket passers.

The dude only wants pocket passers who has come up from pro systems. He doesn't want anyone coming from a college which runs a spread system. The idea is pocket passers are supposed to be able to read defenses better whereas their spread mobile QB counterparts are just athletes. He wouldn't even consider Mahomes, let alone super mobile running QBs like Jackson.

10-2?

#6 offense and #2 in scoring.

WTF
the way Arik was tackling the RB without the ball during an option.....

why can't an edge do that right away to the qb?

Terrell Suggs did it nonstop in that super bowl.

Kap was getting hit even after the ball was long gone.

They almost gave up 500 yards of offense. If your goal is to injure the QB then okay, but it's not a great plan to stop that offense. Taking a defender out of run plays to continuously hit a player that keeps the ball maybe 20% of the time on the option plays into the offenses hands.

The best defense was the scrape exchange, but it worked because Kap wasn't agile enough to shake LBs. Lamar can shake the scrape LB and take off for another 10 yards.

No, that's how you give up 7 yards to Lamichael James on a run play. The proof is in the numbers. Their defense had a bad game. The narrative that the Ravens figured out an offense in 2012 that is still working today is a popular one on this forum, but just because these guys that are resentful towards Kap/Harbaugh say it over and over, it doesn't make it true.

You've seen the narrative so much that you believe it, but it's a myth. Our FO/coaching staff took a RO heavy offense away from Kap (playoff games being the exception), not NFL defenses.

It was 28-6 Ravens at that point in that super bowl. It was working.

It's not b.s. It's The New Guard.

"Ohhh,....but dont draft guys like that!! He wont have a really long career!"

Well yeah maybe Russell Wilson types wont have 15 year careers. But much like RBs,....why do we need them to be effective for 15 yrs? Give me 8 good years and shots at titles.

If you dont want QBs that run that's fine....I'll ship you some VCR tapes sitting in my attic collecting a bunch of dust no prob,....for a reasonable fee of course.

Lamar Jackson is not a Russell Wilson type, not even close. His offense is designed to use his mobility as the main weapon. Russell Wilson uses his arm, while his legs are just a complimentary addition to his game.

If Jackson was to somehow be forced to throw 90-percent of the game in the pocket, he's not going to pick you apart with his arm. But Wilson can, no problem. That is the big difference between the two.

Sounds eerily similar to what people were saying about Russ as well in his 2nd year,...on the way to a Superbowl Ring.
