You mean when our FO tried trading our coach that offseason and were full of off the field distractions between HC and FO? And a team devastated by injuries? Yeah surprised we even went 8-8. That's actually, impressive lol

weird nostalgia thread for a guy everyone wanted to be replaced by carr mid-game lol
so you put alex in the same company of andre ware. leaf, rick mirer, jamarcus russell.... ok. and people think i am nuts
i'm sure a few of those guys could have succeeded on the 49ers with that elite defense we had and even took us to a super bowl.
regardless he made the best decision by retiring...he looked awful last year esp against us. He couldn't complete a single pass and needed haskins to come in and win the game.

it was more fun than the 2012 super bowl team in my opinion. if we had went to the super bowl in 2011 i bet we would not have lost, i have no time for teams that went to the super bowl and lost. actually i have no time for coaches who allowed our team to lose winnable super bowls
Agree. That 2011 team felt like destiny.
I was at both the Eagles game, and the playoff game vs the Saints...and FINALLY that Eagles comeback felt like we'd turned the corner for the first time in 8 years .
The 2011 team would not have lost the super bowl. I'm convinced. it was better than the 2012 team, whose defense collapsed in the playoffs and super bowl.

Alex choked in the NFCC. Reverted back to Mr Happy feet in his biggest game. Never sniffed another championship game again.
Alex playoff record 2-5. Sucked when it mattered.
Kap was 4-2. Broke records in the playoffs. Went sleeveless in Lambeau and outdueled a HOF. Went on he road beat a top Panthers defense. Brought back 9ers from a big deficit in a Championship game in ATL.
Sorry facts hurt.
Going sleeveless is cute, but who gives a f**k. Reality is that he choked in Seattle and in the Super Bowl. Hence, no rings. Playoff records don't matter if you don't have a ring. That's the fact that is hurting you. Also, Kap's good play sample was only 1.5 years so it gets lost unless we are discussing social activism. He wasn't good enough for long enough
alex struggled in some playoff games and he was only a pro bowl level QB that one year in KC. I wish if he could have made one more play in the NFCCG, but the offense struggled and Kyle Williams lost the game
you're too biased. You're a hardcore Kap fan and you hate Alex. So no matter what, you can never look at this subjectively
Do you remember who Alex's WRs were in the NFCCG?
Edit: you know what really pisses me off? The 2012 Niners were way better than the f**king Ravens!
I'm too biased?? Pot meet kettle Lmao
you are getting butt hurt over their playoff records. Sorry, Alex choked when it mattered. Exemplified by his 2-5 record. Couldn't even complete a 3rd down. Lol Sorry he couldn't ball out like Kap in the playoffs and have a 4-2 record.
These are facts. Not what ifs.
And part of reason 9ers were better than the Ravens was because we had Kap at QB. It sure wasn't because of Aldon and cowboy playing with one arm. Or culliver getting owned left and right. Or Lamichael fumbling in the red zone. Or coaching having a brain fart at the 5 with a SB on the line.

This is true. Because they wouldn't have ever got there with Alex to begin with lol

I didn't bring up Kap, you and Sac did. I just brought facts to table. Sorry.

I like Alex, but always unbiased in my assessment of Kap. He was dynamic and great for 1.5 years... but he also choked in Seattle and in the super bowl
Alex was never as good as Kap's 1.5 year run, but he had longevity
I think playoff records are meaningless if you don't have a ring. No one raves about Jim Kelly or Marino's playoff record for a reason. Have to get the chip
do you remember who the WRs were during the 2011 NFCCG?

Unbiased in your assessment of Kap. Yet, youre down playing playoff wins because Alex is 2-5 in the playoffs and Kap is 4-2? Lmao there is not one objective bone in your body when talking about these two players.
Also, if you're of the believe that only rings matter than why are you so obsessed with Alex, a player that never even sniffed one?

I'm not downplaying anything. I'm giving you my opinion that in the playoffs championships are the only thing that matter, especially from the QB. Marino has even said that. Not like it's a hot take. Kap had some great playoff moments/games but he isn't remembered as an NFL playoff legend. What people remember most are the two fades to Crabtree... am I wrong? Yes, the GB game was fun but that isn't what is most remembered. It's the Sherman pick number one, and the Super Bowl fade number two.
I like Alex cause he was our number one pick, I thought he was worthless, then a miracle happened and he became solid. Maybe it was due to my age (I'm around Frank and Alex's age), but that team was always special to me. I'm not saying Alex is a hall of famer (I have said that in this thread in jest), but I like the dude. And I was always perplexed at the level of hate he received from guys like you who take him personal. He was always a quiet, non-controversial guy
if you go back and read our convo im pretty fair. Then read your comments. You take these men personal bro.

Btw, Alex was throwing to Davis, Delanie Walker, Crabtree, Frank Gore. Yet, still couldn't in FG range or just a measly 3rd conversion just awful. Like I said folded like a cheap tent. And evidenced by his 2-5 record. Pathetic.
You know who Eli beat us with going against a historic defense? Bear Pascoe (who????) and Mario Manningham. Yes , that Mario the one that didn't do s**t for the 9ers.

Are we gonna pretend like the Giants didn't have Hakeen Nicks and Victor Cruz out there, both guys who had monster seasons? Even if those guys aren't making plays, a defense has to know where they are at all times, that opens up opportunities for other receivers.

Crabs got hurt early. His wideouts were Brett Swain and Kyle Williams all game. Hot garbage.
Eli came through in the clutch that game, and in the next game against NE. Wish if Alex or Kap could have done that... neither could
you take Alex to personally and emotionally bro. Relax
