Sorry, I couldn't help it. Smith is a good dude but it's hard not to call out Sacs b******t in here. If anyone here is to blame it's him for starting with his crap. You should have seen this coming. He only post to antagonize. Which I ignore most of the time but sometimes you just have to call it out. And Alex just happens to get caught in the cross fire lol

I was posting about Smith retiring and you started bashing him... then we were having a convo and you got upset

I concede. You won. Let's move on now. You were right

You and Cc started it knowing damn well what it was going to lead to.

Anyways, nice little back and forth. Let's just focus on Alex and not he QB that supplanted him.

Remember that time Alex had more sacks than total yards? Truly the worst QB'd game in NFL history and it's not even close. Supplanted by Gabbert. Then completely out of the entire league.

Was that the season Alex threw 1td and 11 picks and posted a 40.8 rating?

Just move on. You're not bringing anything that hasn't already been talked about the last few pages.

i thought you were good sac? What happened?

I shed a tear after the VD post tbh. The real ones understand. Magical moment at The Stick.

If not the best game I've ever been at, it's definitely in the top 3! Still makes me want to jump up and down screaming everytime I see it!

it was perfect that game was played at the stick.. the last time it was that loud there was the come from behind win over the giants in the playoffs..... i always thought alex looked a bit like garcia as both high stepped into the end zone when they scored their respective touchdowns.... i loved that team soo much

It was definitely an incredible season. Funny you should bring up the game against the giants, I was just talking about that game yesterday. It was on NFLN last night!

Two days ago my friend and I were talking about how magical the Vernon Davis catch against the Saints was (actually buddy loved Alex smiths run at the end even more).

I haven't been the new stadium (I moved out of Cali), and I know we've had a lot of losing teams since we have been there, but it doesn't have that same feel to me as the stick did.

SO many magical moments at the stick, I hope one day we can get some of that nostalgic magic for our new stadium.

There were alot of great seasons at candlestick, and as a season ticket holder, I agree with you. Two years ago really started to change things at Levi's though. I hope when fans come back, the atmosphere is like it was then.

Those are the only games care to remember about Kap, because you never got over the fact that he took over Alex job. Just admit it.

Kap outdueled an All time great in Rodgers in two games. One on the ROAD in lambeau. One of the toughest places to play. How this game didn't mean anything to you after the ownage Packs did to 9ers shows your lack of objectivity. Kap also beat a really good team in Panthers on the ROAD. Brought back his team from a large deficit to beat a really good team in the Falcons on the ROAD.

Yet, all you remember is losing to an ALL TIME GREAT DEFENSE in Seattle after being the sole reason for being in the game to begin with. Or the SB that I already covered but your lack of objectivity won't let you grasp.

It would be ridiculous for you to say Alex is a HOFer that's why you bite your tongue. But, the way you talk him up you would think that. he was a BUST for the 9ers for 95% of his time here and choking on the big game with an historic defense trying to drag his ass to a SB.

Seems like you you are still butthurt over Kap taking his job. No biggie. Just don't say you are objectivity because you're clearly not.

I didn't read your post but noticed the laugh emoji and the bold. I know you're upset but idk why.

let's let this one go man.

Love it lol

Meh. Just for one day it's be cool to see you guys just congratulate the guy for once. Whatever. Repeat yourself for the 452,852th time. I've said enough.
I'll never forget those Alex Leaf days in the online 49ers fan community

The fanbase hated him until Harbaugh gave Kaepernick the starting job

Alright folks. Alex just retired today, lets see some decent posts here and not a rehashing of the same old crap. Save that stuff for another day.

Ok....Alex Smith might've sucked, but at least he wasnt a garbage human being like his successor , and Im not talking about JT' O Sullivan or Shaun Hill

With Alex Smith retired, the only non-specialists still in the NFL from the 2005 draft are Aaron Rodgers, Richie Incognito, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and possibly Frank Gore

Jfc man go away
Think it's time for a thread cleanser

The man gave his all, that is all we could have asked. If it wasn't enough, it wasn't. But you should not crap on his effort and heart. Happy Trails, Alex.
