And Smith is coming off one of the worst injuries in NFL history. I would've been shocked if he got named the starter.
But if Haskins struggles, I can see Smith taking over around week 6.

That defense and defensive coach will be enough to keep them out of the bottom 5. Loaded with 1st rounders like ours.

I was even assuming he'll be in the practice squad considering the nature and severity of his injury but anyways they have so many first rounders with and a special one in Chase Young. I mean it makes sense that Alex would be the backup, no? hasnt played in 2 seasons and they have to go with guys theyve had and drafted. alex is a class-act and will coach them up on the sidelines. good veteran presence. no doubt he's grateful just to be a backup at the very least playing again.

With the Eagles injuries I can see Washington winning in week 1. My upset pick. Unless we count the Falcons beating the Seahawks as an upset.
