WAS making the same safe choice as CHI. Can't start the veteran and acknowledge that the guy they drafted isn't the guy. Need to start the rookie and let the veteran clean up the mess.

If that is all you have to add, stay out of this thread.

Alex Smith should definitely start no different than Peyton Manning started after his neck fusion. The career risk isn't much different.

That doesn't mean anything. He's a leader and it stands out. It won't be long until he's in. I have always been skeptical and still think he is limited.
But man, he makes faaaaaar more perfect decisions on the field than he misses big throws. He will always miss big throws but he is elite when it comes to putting his offense AND defense, in positions to succeed.
Tough to keep a player like that on your team AND on the bench...unless he's kneeling.

No better endorsement right now than Patrick Mahomes.

It means if Haskins gets benched , they are putting Allen in first . He is coming off the biggest injury of all time, nothing wrong w Allen and Haskins being ahead of him right now .
Smith will hopefully get some plays in this year and win comeback player of the year . Hell , I'd be so impressed that the award should then be called The Alex Smith award .

Haskins isn't getting benched if he keeps playing like he did today.

Whole bunch of Alex despisers used to hype up Kirk Cousins as a knock on smith. Cousins has a stacked team. His stats against the Indianapolis Colts:
9/24, 91 yards, 3 picks
Smith will go down as a better QB than Cousins. That debate is settled.
