Tyrod Taylor has a higher career passer rating than Alex Smith does. Who would have thought. Not I.

It is somewhat surprising considering the difference in the more recent years of their careers. However, Taylor never played on teams as bad or as poorly coached as that Nolan Nightmare.

Tyrod taylor
2011- 1 for 1 for 18 yards - 118 QB rating
2019- 4 for 6 for 33 yards - 120 QB rating

context like this shows that skewed career passer rating.

If you remove those 7 passes, his career rating drops down to ~80.

That 89 number appears to be an overall avg of his yearly QB rating.
he'd be better back up than mulleins or bet hard

Tyrod is a really good backup to have. Smart vet. His game is kind of made for the QB rating metric. He's a conservative guy... accurate short and intermediate. He is a poor man's Alex. I would take him over Mullens
QB change in Washington. Smiff will suit up as QB #2 while Kyle Allen gets the start.

Haskins getting the Alex Smith on the niners treatment.
Why isn't Alex smith getting the start

Who knows, I would think if you're Rivera you already know Allen's a slightly better Nick Mullens. At least Alex is way more seasoned and has playoff experience.

We'll see #11 before the season is done... that dude got balls. It'll be nerve wracking watching him take a hit

Doubt this will remain true. Rookie QB salaries make it far easier to move on from an underperforming QB than ever before. Id be shocked if Haskins plays for the Redskins again unless its due to injuries. His career in general could be very, very short.
