https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2019/12/08/indianapolis-colts-chase-mclaughlin-missed-field-goal-bucs/
Look at some of these quotes from the article:
"...Filling in for the injured Adam Vinatieri, McLaughlin was strong throughout the majority of the game—except when it came to a 47-yard attempt in the fourth quarter..."
Hitting off the right goal post, McLaughlin missed his only kick on the day. The rookie explained what happened on the missed kick following the game..."
"...I thought it was in right when it came off, I hit it the exact same way as the 50; going the same way earlier in the game, just got a little unlucky..."
"...Outside of the crucial missed kick, McLaughlin was smooth in his field-goal attempts and gave no doubt on the extra-point attempts. He wound up making two field goals while converting three extra points..."
"...Regardless, the missed field goal wound up having an impact on the outcome, but McLaughlin seemed to have impressed his head coach..."
You can't make this stuff up. Wow.

He's a rookie right? Been with like 4 or more teams?
I think he'll over come this last hurtle.
Dude looks good already, compared to kickers who all the sudden have been traumatized because the NFL moved back the extra point.
Colts were smart to get him... they might have their long term kicker... while the Patriots and other playoff teams... might get f**ked come playoff team... as well as still searching for one next year.

I don't think he looks very good in the pressure situations at all.

I don't doubt his leg strength. It's his ability to be clutch or lack of that in key pressure moments that I question.

He kicked the 47 yard field goal to tie vs. Seattle. Niners would have never sniffed OT without that kick.

He's looks absurdly nervous every time he goes to make a big kick. He's going to have to overcome that if he wants to amount to anything in the NFL

He just needs to make one game winner to get past the mental block. He's got a good leg. The ball looks good (way better than Gould) when it's in the air. But after every miss in the clutch that blocks gonna get bigger and bigger.
Sucks, i liked this guy.
But i wonder what would have happened if we had Gould in that seattle game.

Pretty much the entire league is struggling with their placekickers except for maybe 3-4 teams.
Chokes in big moments, Niners should be 12-1
