I know he was great but there were more INTs in that era. Every year the leader had 11,12 ,13 INTs. Lane lead the league that one time when he was a rookie. I'm sure they stayed away from him as much as possible after that since he only had double digits one other time (10). I'm not comparing eras since the rules are different and the style of the passing game is completely different. He's an all time great no doubt. The fact still remains that there just aren't as many INTs now as in the old days. Even though the DBs are faster and bigger so are the receivers. There were very few if any 6'5'' receivers running in the 4.35-4.2 range. The Qbs are bigger and throw better now because the passing game has evolved way beyond what it was in the 50's. Lane was the best of his era and also a hard hitter.
