Owners now want the players to vote down the CBA, so they can go for an 18 game season and negotiate a better deal.

Could just be a scare tactic to get them to accept the deal. Might be effective too since the players always break in front of a stoppage.

I think the owners should have gone for an 18 game schedule from the beginning. A 17 game schedule just doesn't work.
It'll pass, there's too many guys making the league minimum and a 100k raise is a big deal to them.
That's good. I hope it happens and the players get compensated in the way they want. However I think reducing the amount of mandatory practice time for players is stupid and will lead to more injuries.
I just wanna see 50% sharing.
I think players would play 18 games if they got 2 bye weeks

That's too many bye's - it would only be a two game preseason. I'd rather just give the players a bigger share.

Adding the 17th game is beyond stupid. Good for the players.

Anymore news from the Owners? I think it'd best to renegotiate a new CBA, that includes an 18-game schedule.

What does this proposed 18 game schedule mean for owners, bigger yachts, entrenching your great, grandchildren into wealth? The only answer is greed. They're turning the game into something I no longer identify with. I still watch but for the first time I'm angry. Angry with the curbs on defense, the part time refs deciding games, the outlandish ticket prices, the cable cost for season viewership. They don't give anything back to the fans. If a diehard like me feels this way I'm sure many others feel the same way.

I just love football - the more games the better for me.

The part time refs is the issue that burns my ass the most.
