SILENCE here on the ZONE.

I'm proud of him. I'm glad he's doing well as a run blocker but he's absolutely garbage as a pass protector. Didn't you see how many pressures we gave up today? This guy cost us nine points against Seattle

it's probably just MM suiting up wearing his helmet then...
Why are Compton and McGlinchey so great at run blocking and so awful at pass blocking? Can't we get some equilibrium?

That was Brunskill at tackle. He was awesome in 2019 at both tackle spots

There's a reason he was moved to guard and then became a backup guard. What's McGlinchey's excuse?

Mediocre Mike is 2" taller than Terrible Tom, he would have leverage problems as guard.

For MM it's his footwork, lack of using his hands and overall strength.

McFloppy and Compton together in the locker room. They really used a first-round pick on McGlinchey.

Compton's RBLK grade according to PFF is 85.5 at OT. Trent's RBLK grade is 99.4 which is totally absurd lol. So not sure what Lombardi is getting at.

Trent's overall score is the highest PFF has ever given any player since they started PFF at 99.0. He's literally the best offensive player in the league going off their overall PFF number.

FWIW McG's PBLK grade this yr was 70.0 vs Compton's 62.5, McG was actually playing good ball this yr...sucks he's done.

MM wasn't bad at pass blocking this season.

I don't think anyone questions his RBLK skills...he's shown to be pretty solid there. He's a turnstile in pass pro.

I don't put a lot of faith in PFF rankings. I've seen too many that leave you scratching your head in disbelief. I sometimes wonder if they're watching the same games. I'm not saying that Compton is good or bad but I question anything PFF says.

Agree. I think the best approach is to *first* watch the games and develop an idea of what's going on. (is it scheme, player, or talent?) then go back to the stats and see what's going on from that perspective. Stats are helpful, but they aren't the *truth.* They only tell you what happened in the *past* and not what is going to happen in the future.

That's all fine and well, I do think he's a pretty decent RBLK but can't PP to save his life...it makes complete sense based on Kyle wanting to run the ball a billion times.

No offense to a lot of people in here, but I question a lot of them and there ability to "watch film" just as much as people question data like PFF. There's no reason why you can't and shouldn't use both to come to a conclusion on a player.

I think overall line play is up but I'm curious as to whereMM ranks league wide at tackle. He's easily one of the better ones but where is he at after the first tier?
we didn't start winning until compton started playing , elite !!

Connecting the dots I see...

Compton's been excellent in the run game. It's his pass pro that's been very rough. Playing next to Brunskill doesn't help at times. If it's Compton at RT from here on out, just hoping for the best and that he can improve somewhat in pass pro.

i don't remember seeing us chip the DE on pass protection, but they need to do that on every pass
