Denver signs OL Tom Compton

I've always believe that it's better to use money on OL who's got some experiences... the only part I don't love about the signing is that it's only for 1 year.. IMO, signing like this should at least be 2 years..

No doubt they went all-in in hoping to own the L.A. market. Probably not a good example of how to build a team under normal circumstances. But it makes us all feel better about our situation (Jerry Springer-effect).

Looking for answers, definatley not improvement over Persons. My guess is they love Brunskill and Skule, and Shone Coleman and probably will draft an OL or get an UDFA. My prediction is he will not be on the roster for the regular season

Then probably a move you make after the draft...not before?

Definitely worse than Person lol. By a lot. Guessing it's Brunskills job to loose

You Nailed it!

Seems like it's for less with incentives. So not that bad either way. If he beats Brunskill and a draft pick for the starting spot then great.
I don't understand the logic behind this signing.

I can't imagine Tom Compton being much of a challenger. LOL.

At least Brunskill with his T training is a better PP than probably both Tomlinson and Person.

He's not cheaper tho he's getting 3 mill so actually more expensive

WTF we got swindled

That's if he even makes it out of camp bro.

...and if he makes it out of camp,...it'll be for good reason. Whether or not he makes it out for that $3Mill is 100% up to us.

It can quickly be diverted elsewhere.

The staff has all of these figures. Overreaction is common because no one looks @ or understands cap hits/cuts/dates/guaranteed money.

Every guy we sign cant be a Pro Bowler. We need bodies and hope to guess right more than not like in the RB department.

We literally know nothing about how Compton will play. Just like you didn't know how Brunskill would play. Chill out. It's $500k. lol

Just swapping depth. Still, need a starting G.

We paid and extra $500k for a worse player lol. Why pay more for depth when you have the same s**t on your team

It's not end of the world or anything it's just a dumb move that wasn't necessary. Like I keep saying outside of getting the 13th overall pick they haven't made this team better then it already was AND they have fixed any issue (actually made it worse) OH and they actually created more issues moving a blue chip player

Only way it makes sense is if it's all incentives. Little cap hit.

This is my hope

...or...if he plays up to the potential of what they possibly see in camp so as to not get cut. We cant determine what a guy is worth in a uniform we haven't seen him try on yet,...over the course of a season that hasn't been played it.

If he's not worth it,...he's axed.

Even then, you only have him for this year and if he plays well, now you're paying more to keep him going forward. If he sucks, you have no depth plus whatever $ hit.
I thought the same thing with Tomlinson. We see how that turned out.

Trust Shanahan.
