Still good edges out there, could get him back cheap. Would be a steal if we did.

We need to bring Hyder back or pick up another edge guy. We need to address it now, can't rely on the draft or hoping good player gets cut later.

Hyder has been a career backup since he came to the NFL, no way he gets starter money after one good season. A 1 year prove it deal is his best option to boost his market for next year's FA to show teams it's wasn't a fluke season. He was brought in last season to backup Bosa and wouldn't be surprised if he does again this year on a 1 year deal. It's between K.Hyder and J.Willis to be Bosa's backup imo.

I'm Team Hyder. He's been in the league awhile, but far less miles on the body compared to the others. One year deal or two years with incentives. This free agency period has been near perfect.

We'd have Hyder and AA playing most of the 1st, 2nd and short yardage snaps at edge, our Dee Ford replacement as a 3rd down rusher (Ojulari or Roche & Ekuban), and Willis getting about 15 snaps a game behind them. Jones, Kinlaw, and AA getting the snaps in the middle, and round it out with a 2i/3T drafted late to replace Jones next year.

Is it me or it after years of having too many DTs we are getting light at that position? Julian Taylor, Solomon Thomas, and Buckner are gone. I suspect this is Street's last year. I'm hoping to finally get the Michael Bennett type to develop, that way we can move on from AA.

Agreed. Like I said awhile back, he's had two productive seasons throughout his career thus far. He'll most likely be re-signed Imo.

I'm team Hyder or Aldon. With Ebukam as the rotational with Jordan Willis as the 4th string to compete with a day 3 rookie for snaps.
Keep AA and Kinlaw inside where they belong and are more productive. You also have DJ Jones and Kevin Givens.
Bosa - AA - Kinlaw - Hyder or Aldon
Ebukam, mid rounds rookie, DJ Jones, Kevin Givens, Street
Jordan Willis, Alex Barrett, Darron Daniels and whichever other UDFA to come competing

disagree,, you still need to get a pass rusher maybe with a three pick.,. people should not just assume bosa will be 100 per cent. i understand with the quality of pass rushers in the draft. he will not be elite,.., but its fine.... you just get someone who is very good. dee ford is totally unreliable and i will believe bosa back 100 per cent when i see it

I think Bosa will be back 💯 because that's his mentality. However, the coaching staff and training staff would be wise to limit him or face the wrath of everyone if he has any setbacks. I think Bosa will run through walls for us if unchecked.

With that we need depth. Hyder was reliable, Ford if we get 25% out of that will be a victory, so we need another rotational guy and maybe that's a rookie without any medical flags that can learn, develop, and reliably eat reps.

oh, of course i would love to see hyder back.. would be a pleasant surprise. as you said. even if we sign hyder.. still need to find a nice rookie

Yeah, Sherm's lost a ton of speed. Never been that keen on Tart. Personally, I hope Demeco goes with more man to man defenders in the defensive backfield and strengthens the back end of our nickel defense. It wasn't run defense that did us in - in the super bowl, it was a breakdown of our pass defense (specifically the nickel defense) that lost us that game.
