tailgating, walking up the ticket line, waiting in line for food and drinks, finding your seat, leaving the stadium...
we won't see fans unless there's a vaccine or this just dies of naturally by the summer (which is very doubtful).

TV Deals too sweet. Wouldn't at all be surprised to see what they come up with as far as artificial crowd noise, et. al.

There are a lot of "ifs" to be answered before the season starts,
The biggest if is IF the virus infection number come down will there be a second and third wave? That is what happens with pandemics. It wasnt the first wave that was the big killer in the Spanish Flu. I would not be dropping my guard with this virus. I would be one of the ones still hanging around inside and staying away from crowd since I have high blood pressure, diabetes and allergies.
Welcome to the club! I also have diabetes, high blood pressure and allergies! Will miss going to the games this season, but seems too risky to go at this point. Hope they at least have a shortened season I can watch from home.

I think there will be, but it will be modified. I know sports is not on the top of the priority list, but I feel like this country needs some sort of a distraction, plus it will help reboot the economy.

Agree. There is a sense of normality if there are games somewhere. It helps with social morale.
The sooner sports return safely, the brighter each day will seem.

Without a vaccine it would be a lot to ask of the players, wouldn't it?

Even a "treatment" may make some comfortable, but a vaccine is the surest way, however that is not too likely to be available befor the new year.

Pretty much all industries should be working by August even if There's still distancing requirements in place. We can't stop society for a year and a half until a vaccine is developed.

Well, it's a theory. How about, as an alternative theory, that the government and the NFL between them get the season going before a vaccine is developed and several of the best players contract and die of the virus. And as a result the NFL gets sued into oblivion. I would imagine the NFL's lawyers are giving this possibility some serious consideration, wouldn't you?
And I don't see how the NFL can operate with distancing requirements.
Regarding stopping society for 18 months for a vaccine, I am not sure how you can be so dogmatic. The current scientific discussion over here is speculating that the immunity as a result of contracting the virus may be very short lived, although they are hoping that immunity as a result of vaccine might last longer. Might. Nobody knows any of the answers for sure right now. So consider the possibility that, if society is not stopped for 18 months awaiting a vaccine, the virus could stop society.

The chance that a professional athlete at 20-30 years old with extreme testing in place to identify and treat anyone with the disease as soon as possible is going to die from a disease that largely feasts on senior citizens with other health issues is a risk leagues will be willing to take because It's next to nothing odds.
I'd say the bigger concern they're going to deal with on a player concern is asking them to stay away from their families as well as a players catching the disease then having to be quarantined during the season but those are issues they will be willing to fight thru.
