It really sucks that we may see no football season this year for the first time ever but it also sucks because there could be a few players that we won't see play again if they don't play this year. It would crazy if Brady, Gronk, Rivers, ect don't ever suit up for their new teams and maybe even suck for us if Joe Staley ends up retiring if this season is lost. There could be other players that end up retiring too if this thing goes into next year.

If the season doesn't start I think Staley will hang around for at least one more. After all he isn't going to get injured playing and it will be a light year for his body given he might only be doing conditioning training. I think he will get very fit and will not be coping the hard knocks. I see only benefits for him if he was a year of playing. Same with a lot of players who have been carrying injury like McKinnon, JG, Taylor, Richburg, Hurd etc.

Maybe they will come up with an effective treatment until a vaccine is found that will allow everything to open back up.
Yeah, they will have to isolate all players and coaches etc from the rest of the world in their stadiums, gyms, practice fields and fly them on private jets too and from games and keep them isolated at games with no fans or people who have not been isolated in a football bubble.

The fact that the President and many states are running around contradicting each other demonstrate the level of cooperation of different levels of government is poor and this is not the way to work efficiently to solve this crisis.
Accordingly, the prognosis is not good that the football season will start on time. Some states will be better then others which will cause all sorts of nightmares for the NFL in organising the season. I cant see there being an fans at games if it does start. My outlook is extremely pessimistic that NFL will start this year at anything other then a splutter.
But they didn't all die of that. The CDC has said that:
* No test is required (you can assume Covid 19 on the death certificate).
* The founder of the test said it's not to be used like this at all. It is not even an accurate test. It tests for all Coronaviruses including other than Covid 19.
* Seasonal influenza deaths plummeted. Not because it's less than other years. It's being counted as Covid 19.
* CDC and even Dr. Birx has said right on film they are counting Covid 19 if you died "with" Covid 19. Not "from" Covid 19. A huge distinction.
* Hospitals and providers get thousands more of funding if they list Covid 19 under the Cares Act. Incentive to list Covid 19 for money.
Even with all their doctored numbers the number is still lower than a harsh flu season. It hasn't changed the mortality rate much at all in the country. It's about the same. Realistically that's a very small number in a country of 350 million (new census will probably mean more than people used to state 330 - 340 million).

If even one player tests positive on a team then all the players would need to be isolated for about 2 weeks. That could mean suspending all games for 2 weeks. I don't see how the can think about playing until there is a vaccine or at least a very effective treatment that lessens the severity of the virus. A fairly realistic timeline for a vaccine if they developed one next month (optimistic)
- small sample size tests on humans (1-2 months)
- large sample size tests (4-6 months)
- drug companies ramp up manufacturing in large quantities (1-2 months) Not sure how long it would take to do this since some drugs are harder to mfgr. Remember we had a shortage of the shingles vaccine for over a year because it was hard to make.
- last step is getting it distributed to all the pharmacies and doctors so it can be administered. (probably at least a month but it could take longer ) Look how long it's taking to get test kits shipped.
These time lines for testing were given out by Fauci and other health experts. If you take the best case scenario we are looking at January or February for adequate amounts of vaccine to be made and distributed. That's assuming they develop a vaccine next month. Add a month for every month delay.

Lol you think you're getting charged for games that don't happen? Why do you need an email?
Those of us who are season ticket holders already paid earlier in the year. Other teams pushed back the deadline the 49ers were one of only a few teams who did not. Why an email? I don't know, if your clients are spending thousands of dollars of their hard earned money, you think some common courtesy would be common sense. Nope, not for Jed. So yeah, a simple e-mail of reassurance would be nice.

Excerpt from the above article several weeks back:
Only three NFL teams — the Cowboys, 49ers and Bengals — apparently are maintaining the status quo regarding payments due.
The Cowboys have not yet reached out to their fans, although a longtime season ticket holder says that while the deadline for payment on personal seats licenses has already passed, it's usually sometime in April before there's an update on season tickets.
The San Francisco 49ers remain in a business-as-usual mode, and the Bengals say they are "still in the process of discussing the best way to proceed."

On another note here's an idea if the season gets dramatically cut, making it wild because, what the hell nothing is normal this year...
-All teams play 3 games, one against each division opponent
-All 32 teams make the playoffs with seeding determined by total wins followed by point differential
-Seeding is done regardless of conference or division, #1 plays #32, #2 plays #31 etc, with a single elimination format. 32 teams down to 16, 8, 4, 2

All I know is that know one knows anything (did I use the corrects knows).
I have always lived my life believing that the truth lies somewhere in the middle of over reaction to under reaction. Unfortunately in today's media/world the over reaction is what gets reported.
That being said I keep hearing people say no sports or concerts or big events until a vaccine. Why is everyone so sure we will develop a vaccine? Heck we don't have a vaccine for the common cold. Most diseases we don't have a vaccine/cure for.
Everyone just assuming in two years we will have a vaccine are dreaming. What happens if in two years we don't. Do we just continue to cancel stuff.
At some point we have to accept the reality of the situation we have put ourselves in. And I say we cause everyone in the world has a hand in this. We have f**ked this world up for years and have to live with whatever comes our way.

There is a lot of truth in there.

IDK if anyone has posted this and Indon't have a link but some states in the midwest are going forward with reopening, some starting as soon as tomorrow. This includes sporting events. I hope this means pro sports too.

Every thing that was normal changed, more changes coming up...how we eat at restaurants (capacity and workers will decrease, all employees wear masks, especially those in direct contact with food like the cook and server bringing it out to you), casinos already have plans (distancing, masks, etc.) and sports arenas will have these changes. Outdoor stadiums will have more of a chance to have an audience.
