Will the 2020 NFL season be canceled due to COVID19?

It'll get cancelled, and then we'll have to do another virtual draft. Two draft classes and no football

If the NFL season gets cancelled, it likely means that there wouldn't be an NCAA season either. May not be a draft to hold next year if all that went down.

crazy

I think it could work if no fans are in the stadium for the first part of the season. It'll be weird but that's the best option for the season to happen.

won't matter

what if a player on the team gets sick? they would need to quarantine the whole team. it won't work

Sadly you are right. No insurance company will provide a policy to protect the teams or the NFL from being sued if they catch it while playing football either. No insurance No NFL.
They are working on NFL ready hazmat suits to play with

Should eliminate the Pro Bowl regardless.

Also all these rookies that just got drafted would essentially be on three year contracts if the season was cancelled. They'd still get paid, the season would still count as a year towards free agency. That hurts the flexibility of teams like the 49ers that are up against the cap.

Would be fine with this if necessary just to get the season in. And, while they're at it, just eliminate the Pro Bowl permanently please.

It really depends on if we get a handle on this and i dont think we will by then (unless there is a vaccine breakthrough)

if 1 player gets it that team and the team they played against is guaranteed and cant play for 2 weeks

Lol what difference will mid October make over September? There is unlikely to be a vaccine. Without a vaccine, there is just no way there can be any sporting events. NFL has all these contingencies that literally won't matter (short of a miracle)
Hard to believe the season is still in jeopardy! Two week incubation period and we are shut down for another month?!!

Also hard to believe that the people in the mid-west and down south would be okay with shutting down both pro and college football. May be a civil war if that happens...

There may never be a vaccine. Ever. For thousands of years.

Are we gonna never play sports again as a society for thousands of years?

i dont believe this one bit

but if it were true and people go out and this virus never dies and always stays in public then yes no sports

Asking players to play when they are at risk of catching an extremely contagious disease which has a good chance at killing them and their friends/teammates/family is just cruel
