Will the 2020 NFL season be canceled due to COVID19?

Baseball was having issues, hell, the entire Marlins team caught COVID and look at them now. NFL will get their s**t together

It's two different sports and the NFL and MLB are doing two different approaches to keep their players safe. The NFL has little wiggle room for re scheduling. That is why there is a freak out. The NFL season can't end in JULY it would mess up the 2021 season time line.

Big difference. Baseball can play double headers 3 times a week if they need to make up games. The physical nature of football is what makes it so hard to reschedule. Playing on a short week is a problem when a team has those Thursday night games in a normal season. Trying to make up games by squeezing them in is much harder when teams weren't preparing for it. Travel arrangements have to be made and a teams entire practice schedule gets screwed up. That's if only one team is affected. If 2 games need to be rescheduled it can have a trickle down effect on teams that those 2 are scheduled to play. Not a good situation.
The NFL really should have scheduled some extra bye weeks to allow for the possibility that some games might be postponed. They planned a lot for how to prevent an outbreak, but it doesn't seem like they did a very good job planning for what would happen if one did happen.

The problem when multiple teams start having outbreaks is you can't just say they can play ob bye week #2. What if either or both of those teams already have a game scheduled. Then they would need to reschedule those games. They would need to have 3 or 4 bye weeks where no games were scheduled and you know the NFL isn't going to lose air time.

This week has been designated as a "throwaway week" according to an article in The Athletic today. No divisional games this week. Only games that can be scheduled to other dates with minimal impact on the overall season.

The league may feel that they have minimal impact but for the teams that have to make these last minute travel and schedule changes it is a big deal. It's not stuff that can't be done but hotel changes, travel changes and the disruption all add up to making it harder for teams to put a quality product on the field. This is the first week they've had to deal with this. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't become a weekly issue.

Gonna suck if we lost Bosa in a canceled season.
Some teams may just end up playing less games. There was a 9 game season once, you know. Not the end of the world.

The other POV is that that's a season to lose him because there's no SB champion

This. If we have to lose Bosa might as well happen when the season doesn't even complete.
Now they're reporting someone from the chiefs tested positive as well? Season over. Fun over. Back to hell that is my life.
The season is fine. There's going to be delays, infections, and maybe some cancellations. They knew that going in.

You don't think the NFL can give every team multiple bye weeks (canceling a week or two) just in case more teams test positive so it doesn't mess up the schedule? I feel like, you can only postpone or move around so many games before it all goes to $h!t

It was their scout team QB. His role this past week was to play Cam Newton.

You can't make this stuff up.
