Not gonna happen
"OMG, the sky is falling!"

A whole lot of scary Larry's in here. Fear monger's, you are.

The NFL season is gona keep on going. They had contingency plans for all kinds of COVID scenarios.

Just as with the other sports, the show must go on and it will.

One thing that's clearly stupid AF is holding Thursday night games during a season like this. At the very least they need to get rid of that dumbass part of the schedule.

Pretty much. The NFL thought they'd go all year without a single case now they're getting some. Shut it down
Why didnt they create team bubbles. We did it in our country and have had full seasons of our major codes of sports. I am sure the NFL could afford to cover the restrictions. Now the whole thing is in jeopardy of closing down.

This is such an easy fix. The NFL could actually have a Prime time game on wed and thurs. It's so simple. 4 teams get a bye every week starting week 5 and ending week 12. You get your bye BEFORE you play a weekday game.

Example Teams ABCD will play today for week 4. Have a week 5 bye. Will play week 6 on Wed-Thurs...Then play the following Sunday for week 7.

Week 4 Play today on the 4th
Week 5 bye
Week 6 Play on the 14th-15th (wed-thurs)
Week 7 Play on the 25th (Sunday)

Wed-thurs teams ABCD will have 9-10 days off before Week 6 game and 9-10 days off AFTER going into week 7.

The fans biggest gripe will be too much time off from seeing their teams play, but honestly, this is perfect for player safety and team health. It will also give NFL fans another Primetime game which will be 4 Primetime games every week.

Mon-Wed-Thurs-Sun

Who doesn't want more football, player safety, and more time for their teams to get healthy? I know we could sure use it this year and every year for that matter.

The question now becomes. How do send the NFL this idea and how much do I charge for my consultation fee considering the NFL will get millions more in TV revenue?

OMG tell me you did not just reference a horrible horror movie?
I see that there is already consideration for reducing the season to 12 games by having only one division game and eliminating another game. Only time will tell if they need to do that but they can't keep having these disruptions causing them to redo the schedule every week. If these outbreaks continue then it makes sense to shut it down and gear up and plan for next year. We're already seeing a year with a huge number of serious injuries to star players. Maybe the season just wasn't meant to be.
