Hate tha pick wasn't a guy I wanted at all but I get it ... Now lets hope he can be as good as DEFO 🙏

Ford's will end his career. He has tendonosis. A chronic degenerative condition.

Kinlaw had a couple weeks of tendinitis.

They are not the same.

That's good to know. Makes me feel alot better about drafting this guy. Let's hope he turns out to be a beast for us.

Who did you want? I think regardless of boom or bust, this was the right selection -- high DL, athletic, can bang with the big boys, filling a giant hole from defo 800 snaps and 250 double teams walking out the door to indy. By far this was the RIGHT strategic selection, going DT1 or DT2. Hope Kinlaw works out. I am very optimistic with Bosa and Kocurek coaching him up.

Honestly no wr was going to make a huge difference this year -- that's why jeudy and rugg went mid round behind lineman, qb's and cj henderson.

This guy should have been a top 10 pick and we got him at 14
I thought all my dreams came true and we were gonna trade down again with Denver and scoop up Jeudy or Lamb and our offense would be lethal. At first announcement I was disappointed. But hey, Kinlaw some thought was better then Brown the consensus top DT. At 14 I believe he was #1 on our board and at a position of obvious need. I also knew he had preferred to end up a 49er. The kid has an amazing story if you haven't read or watched, I strongly suggest it. Bottom line is he's a bigger 325lbs version of Buckner and 69 million cheaper over the next 4 years. Our DL gets younger and cheaper instantly, and IMO will improve upon last year. Yes I said it. Year two of Bosa, emergence of AA, year 2 in the wide 9, better health of Ford. Like Bosa said, a lot was left on the plate. What I also knew, instantly, was that WR would be our next pick. So I cringed when each one was taken. Jeudy and Lamb hurt, Reagor who was my realistic hope, stung, and Jefferson made me start to wonder. Hearing Aiyuk was Shanalynchs guy made me turn back on the tape. His 4.50 was with an injury. And his highlights if looked at open minded compare nicely with Ruggs/Jeudy/Lamb. The funniest thing about yesterday is I was pretty spot on with the entire top 25, at least position and situationally. I was only way off on my 49ers. We replaced Buckner and Sanders day 1. Mission accomplished. At this point we go BPA and try and find some late round gems. The rich got richer. The glass is way more then half full. Quest for 6

I will be curious to see if they plan on use him not only as a three tech but also as a DE.
I think he has the potential to play some downs as big end.

I think this might be the first time Arik Armstead feels small next to someone.

Looking at his highlight package, I get a John Randle vibe. Except he is much bigger than Randle was. If he can get a sniff of how good Randle was this will be a slam dunk pick.

Looks like he was constantly getting doubled, even tripled. It is going to be harder for teams to do that on a regular basis with the 49ers DL talent. Plus, he will be fresher with the depth and waves of other lineman coming in.

What is funny to me is the amount of moaning and b***hing that went on in here when Buckner was traded. Weakening a strength, etc. And when the 49ers draft a player that seemingly will eat up most of that loss with a huge ceiling ... there is more complaining.

There is plenty of tape out there on the guy, there is snap by snap tape against many teams.

He suffers double teams as often as most DTs do, heck maybe even less since they did stunt him with regularity. He was not really singled out for any triple team that i saw. I am not even sure how a DT would be triple teamed.

When you watch him play, he has many....many.... wins. They might be nowhere near the play, or the QB....but he does move the pile. It really looks like it was come hell or high-water he was going to shoot the gap infront of him and get as deep as possible.

There are many snaps were a sole blocker locks him up, and his power doesn't work....and he has nothing else to fall back on. Alabama had a few snaps were they drove him 5+ yards back on run plays.

That is what lead me to wonder if he will be a better pro then college player. It happens with regularity. That is a far cry from b***hing and Moaning.

At the end of the day, they picked up a huge man, with big man strength. It was a good value for the spot they got him. I much prefer San Fransisco's chances with him then I do SC. I hope he gets with Bosa's team and works his tail off. There is a lot of un tapped potential there. I would bet we have not seen 60% of what he is capable of.

Hopefully this image will be in the pre-game nightmares of opposing QBs all season long.

Yes, thanks for the clarification. I'm not in the medical field and was not aware of the difference.

Yasupizu...why don't you look at some film before making a totally erroneous comment like this. Go look, there's some nice film earlier in this thread but do yourself a favor and look Kinlaw up on utube before making a comment that is just flat out incredibly wrong. Baldinger pointed out in one clip how this dude ran top speed downfield after a guy DBs were trying to catch. You just don't see that kind of effort from a 325 lb DT. The last thing he would ever be accused of is "not finishing."

Suggestion: read first, get an education about the guy, and then post. Study his films an you come away wiht an entirely different picture...and certainly a different opinion.
Can he become a better pass rusher than Defo?

Im not in love with the pick but i certainly understand it.

He also seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He's hungry to learn more and wants to be coached. A coaches dream really.

Charlie Casserly pointed the out the same thing when Kyle was a Wide receiver coach in Houston. Casserly said Kyle preferred Mario Williams over Reggie Bush.
