Jimmy I don't mean to sound like a penis, but have you watched every or most Niner games? I say this bc he gets a good amount of pressure, run stops, passes batted down, a few sacks and a pick 6. He is already better at swatting the ball and against the run than Buckner. I believe he is still among the top 2 out of all rookies in pressures and that's at his DT position (not DE)
Jimmy is just talking out of his ass.
LOL he sure is mayo
For starters, Jimmy doesn't realize AA was a free agent and they couldn't trade him

You don't draft a DL in the top 15 to not get sacks. That's why he was drafted. Javon Kinlaw went #15 overall because he has the tools to turn into an elite pass rusher.
You can find stout run defenders on day 3. He better turn into a good pass rusher or the pick is wasted.
This. If he's REALLY going to affect a passing league, you need to bring the skill set to combat that. Simple as that.
That's not why he was drafted - he was drafted to be a disruptor.
So an excellent pass rusher, run defender and clutch on 3rd downs? Awesome!

I think he's done an admiral job with no DEs and a bunch of backups around him.

Excuse my dumbass, but I could have SWORN I saw KINLAW not BUCKNER on this thread ‼️ As I have stated before, Joker ( my nickname for him cause he's going to be a top wildcard) is going to bring a quicker penetration on runs and passes (or disruption). Give him a training camp, a preseason and some time with #97 and fans, especially the hard to please on here, won't be able to contain themselves. But, there must be pressure coming from the opposite side of them. I, personally, am looking for T/E stunts with the two of them 😎

I think he's grown quite a bit as well. Flashes. Active. Hero and I are just saying where we'd like his strength and growth to be for a DT taken 15th overall. If he becomes that, the DL and defense is going to be unreal. If not, then you could have just gotten a run defending DT who's modest as an interior pass rusher anywhere or certainly much later. Kind of a similar stance with OL.

Hero has been talking him up big time this year. Repeatedly pointed out his pass rushing moves that appear more refined than what was expected at this point. that he's going to be a monster and these pressures/near sacks are going to turn into sacks next year

If there's one thing for Kinlaw to improve on it's how he handles double team run blocks. He gets washed out more than he should. Not asking for him to win the double team, just stalemate.

Is this a matter of play recognition? I doubt he lacks the physicality to handle the doubles. If you recognize the run and double coming sooner I imagine you can position yourself better.

I think it's more a pad level/technique issue than it is play recognition.

Dude has been amazing this yr....2nd in the league among all DTs in sacks/QB hits/total tackles. He's the machine that makes that INDY defense go.

I just want him to be Chris Jones v2 !
He had a solid rookie season, but he's got a ways to go to piece everything together. The dude is arguably the most talented IDL in the league, so my expectations for him correspond with that.

You can see it all. That's the key. It's there. There's no mystery.
Now, like you said, it's about putting it all together and stacking days.
Arrow up, baby.
