Boxing is a dumb workout? You got hit a punching bag and move around for 20 mins at a time, it's actually a damn good workout as far as cardio goes…it's also pretty safe as far as getting an injury goes.

this is just one aspect of what they do, but you know this.

Agreed. I once heard a boxing announcer tell viewers to just stand up and move around on your toes, hold your hands up the entire time and throw some punches for 3 minutes. then sit for 1 minute and repeat. Do this 10 times or 12 times. This is much more strenuous than people realize. If you actually spend the 3 minutes punching a bag then it's even better.

For anyone that doesnt do explosive things often, just shadow box on your toes for one three minute situation and see how your body feels the next day. Lol

I'm ready to see this big boy wreak havoc on opposing teams this upcoming season.
Not only is boxing or MMA a great workout, but it teaches guys how to use their bodies to strike, which absolutely translates to the field. Kinlaw has a long way to go, tho. Dude is an arm puncher on the field and on the bag. He needs to punch through that motherf**ker and turn his hips into his strikes. But they're at the right place. CSA is an amazing place to train. There are some women there that will knock his noodles back.

There's only one sport I know better in life than football, and that's fighting.

Baldy's Breakdown on Javon Kinlaw:

[ Edited by rorrim on Jun 21, 2021 at 3:27 PM ]
Love Baldy's stuff and great vid, but he forgot to mention one thing. A number of times and several times here, Javon gets buried by 2 or 3 guys, is on his way to ground and is so damn strong you see an arm come out and down goes the ball carrier. We've all seen his arms….massive. But man are they ever strong. I mean REALLY , really , strong. How many guys can get buried under 2 or 3 blockers and still make a one arm grab of ball carrier for a tackle? I can't think of many…or any, honestly. It's there. Just watch his films…and not just these.

Man can you even imagine #99 playing next to #97? That is the one most exciting thing i hope to see this yr …97/99
That clip of Kinlaw chasing Rodgers is f**king crazy. That's 325 lbs moving like that.

DUMB workout.. not sure how this is any better than Deevah's ability to catch fast tennis balls..

Doesn't look like much, but it's great for your cardio.

These guys are working out all the time too, I'm sure it's nice for them to add a little variety to their conditioning repertoire.

I really believe if Kin tags some OL in the sternum he could break bones. God help the OLs who line up against him. If 99 lines up inside 97, man there will be some hellacious tackles made from their L side…blockers will all be on our R side and L side should be really vulnerable.

between them Kin and Nick eat up 5-6 blockers at times. Nicky always gets doubled or trips and Kin was getting same treatment. Together? Whoa….

I was a bit disappointed seeing that video. No hip involvement in his swings, and slow hand speed, tho, to be fair, he's a much larger human being that those that I may be comparing him to, hand speed wise.

Doing some unusual training is a good way to break through a fitness/conditioning plateau.

It also works other muscles in different movements than they are used to. It's a great idea for an athlete that wants to improve their endurance. If anyone has gotten in a boxing match or training/sparing, they know its probably the most tiring workout ever

You still think that after seeing Baldy's high lite reel? Also, it is on many game films, where #99 gets plowed under by a triple block, and on the way down he grabs a ball carrier with one arm and makes the tackle, and you never even see his body. There's one really good example in the above film.

You are talking about his hands in taking on block tho, and you can see the swim move in one vid, you can see a DOUBLE swim move (360 degrees around two blockers) if you look at his tape, , and you can find a handful of plays where he literally is buried by 3 blockers , ball carrier comes by and bang, out goes an arm and down goes ball carrier. His arms are huge. But his HANDS? Wow they must be incredibly strong .

There also in Baldy's film is a great instinctive move where he literally throws an OL to the side to make the tackle. His upper body is just awesomely strong. And where you see him stand an OL up…watch as he just pushes them back. HUGE legs and strong as an ox, also. Long before he was picked to have a breakout yr, he was my favorite for breakout player this yr.

then finally there is the GB high lite where he is blocked twice on R side and then goes to L sideline chasing ARodgers. He was gaining on him too. His endurance is yet another thing that just blows one away.
Two more things. Recall last yr many of those defensive plays we had 6 of our starting/ rotational DL out on PUP or IR, and no Bosa. Kin WAS the DL. That's one.

2nd, last yr he literally went from CFB to NFL with NO training, no OTAs, no camp, no PS, no nada. I mean everything you saw last yr was just pure talent and brawn. And no question he learned as he went along.

Lastly, we have to see him play first, but he is my early pick for DPOY.
