Dude needs to pull up some Chris Jones tape and watch how Jones' uses the bull-pull move to counter IOL that anchor that heavily vs power. Kinlaw could've won sooo cleanly. It's pretty wild that Kinlaw was still overpowering Mason despite being higher than him.

Chris Jones was also pretty darn green his rookie yr, very similar prospects IMO

Yeah the physical gifts are through the roof, just needs some seasoning ….Hero get on the horn and get working with big Kin

i can see javon learn that combo move seems strong enough to do it.

A full TC + preseason will be huge for Kinlaw.

Serious question, will this make a difference? Shouldn't a year of experience in actual games trump that?

Biggest jump in improvement almost always comes in year 2. Even more so with no off-season last year.

agreed, that was something that needs to be brought up a little more as well...no real OTAs or TC for him.

Wirfs didn't need it and played twice as many snaps and had the best grade of the Superbowl.

kid needs to work on his technique and coach K will make that s**t happen

With his drive and K's coaching and the talent around him, he's absolutely in a position to find success as a pass rusher. If he can't, that would be massively unfortunate.

It would be perfect just for you though NC, you get your run stuffing only DT that we all know you value and love so much

I think this guy is primed to have huge second year. Consider that he has massive physical talent and almost zero football experience as he came to the game late in life. Add to that last year with no OTA's or training camp, he was thrown into the lineup with next to zero development. Completely different this year. He's got a season under his belt, he knows exactly what needs work and he has a coach that will help him do what needs be done. He's gonna be a monster on the line this coming season. Book it!
Promising rookie season ,but then we saw him wearing Corcs.

Now, im not too sure about him

He easily could be the #1 breakout player. Or just another run stuffing DT. I need to see a big leap in snaps and pass rush this year. No excuses as he's set up better than any young DL coming into the league.

For me I expect more in yr 2, but year 3 is where I expect that Chris Jones like season…

That could very well happen too. I just want to see marked growth from year 1 and an upward trajectory while keeping realistic expectations too.

i expect and we all should expect.. a HELL of lot more production from him this year than last year

I can't wait to see #99 line up inside #97. That ought to be well worth watching. By rights that should make the L side of our DL a whole lot easier to get to the QB.

I mentioned this earlier and wonder does anyone else see this happening? Maybe the better bet is to separate the two of them, but if we get any kind of push out of AA, and either Ebuk or whoever, the #99 playing just a yard away form #97 kind of makes me wonder how in the world that pair is going to be defended against. What? Take up 3 OLs , 1 TE and 1 RB? Because if that is what it takes, the L side of the DL should be having a field day.

Is that reasonable or is it better to have Kin on other side from Nick?

I don't think teams are worried right now about having to use that many players to block our DL. Nick Bosa is the only guy right now that warrants that type of attention, but even he's coming off the ACL. Kinlaw was very blockable last year. We just have to wait and see if he's going to make a huge jump. AA has always been blockable one on one outside of his contract year. I'm actually excited about Ebukam. I feel like his style compliments what the other guys do very as well as a potential clean-up guy.

I keep forgetting about Dee Ford. Obviously, if by some miracle that guy sees the field, he's the 2nd best pass rusher on the team by a wiiiiiiiiiide margin. I think a nascar package with Ford, Bosa and Ebukam might be the way to go on money downs if they're all healthy and active.

Agreed, overall Covid and missed TC/OTAs stunted some of those rookies, Kin was raw coming out of SC but oozing with talent/raw ability… very similar to Jones but he actually got a legit off season as a rookie.

I expect growth but I will also be realistic.
