this was prior to camp right ?

It's the same recent procedure he just had.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after practice that the 49ers are being careful with defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who underwent a clean-up procedure in his knee after last season and, more recently, a minor procedure to reduce swelling. He did not participate in team drills today, and the team will continue to ease him into on-field work

Top notch reporting right there. Thanks Hoov.

Lol, for real.

Hmm…

Deforest Buckner never missed a game with us. Just saying.

But he cost too much and the salary cap is too low to resign good players.
Hope this isn't chronic

Please quit boosting this guy in regards to Niner stuff. He may have been a fan once but now he is only about the clicks and slobbering on the chiefs. Leave his posts to just draft stuff.

Yup. Letting Williams sign with the Chiefs. Couldn't extend Warner and let Kittle walk. They just let all the good players go.

Knee issues in college, last year and already this year.

He played last season with this same issue?

From the chronicle article:

Kinlaw's situation will be worth monitoring, given his medical file. He dealt with knee tendinitis before entering the NFL, and multiple teams reportedly flagged both of his knees as being at risk for arthritis when he was examined at his combine. Kinlaw missed the final two games last season with a knee injury that was termed a bone bruise before he had what the 49ers characterized as a "routine cleanup" in January.
Damn. Not looking good. He's too young to be falling apart.
What's going on?
This is probally something he is going to have to deal with and manage his entire career. Right now it seems like more of an annoyance than a serious injury that could sideline him for a long time. But eventually it will become pretty bad and will probally shorten his career. But hopefully we can atleast get his best years out of his rookie deal. But I would be very hesitant to give him a 2nd contract because this doesn't seem like the type of injury you can fix with surgery. It's just something he is going to have to play through and when it flares up may have to miss some practices and a game here and there.

Like Dee Ford. This is a bit disheartening but hopefully it's just an overreaction by us. I do remember his knees being a concern though.

knee tendinitis isn't some oh my god you're career is over thing....

"There are athletes all the time, throughout the season, that are dealing with these issues," Dr. Michael Banffy, an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, told the San Francisco Chronicle's Eric Branch. "… I would say 90 percent of the time it's totally manageable and people don't have to do anything drastic about this."

Once again I think people are exaggerating what it is and what he had done....shocker in here I know
