It's a long camp…I'd rather these guys are healthy for the season vs rushing them out there now just so we can get camp reports about how they look.

I think the anger with Kinlaw was the domino effect it caused.
1. They could have stayed at their existing pick and got Wirfs
2. AA had ONE strong season and they picked him over perennial all pro buckner
3. Kinlaw has big shoes to fill
4. With Bosa and Dee Ford hurt, AA had to play DE

I hope Kinlaw can be a go, my struggle is DJ Jones and street free agents appear to be as effective.

A ton of truth in here.

But the kid himself has an all pro mindset and work ethic and is a freak, physically. He's also in the best position in the NFL now to become a beast.

He legit, has a chance to become special if his body holds.

I'm just waiting to see #99 line up just inside #97. That i cannot wait to see. Curious as to how they attempt to block those two …together.
From Meco on Kinlaw:

What's your level of concern with Javon Kinlaw not getting into team drills just yet given how much you would like to see him take a leap forward in his second season?

"Kinlaw has been doing a great job on the side, working with our medical staff. He's getting into individual doing some drills there. So his ease back into play is going really well. And over the next few days, we'll see him get into practice, but I'm in no rush to rush him back. And when he's healthy and he's ready to come back, you know, that'd be, the medical staff would determine that time, but I'm not worried about Kinlaw at all. He's been doing everything that we asked him. Kinlaw is a guy who's been here probably the most during the offseason, just training and working on his body, getting where he needs to be. So I'm not worried about Kinlaw at all. He's going to be fine for us."

So he has an injury?

If we stay put and take Wirfs we likely don't trade for Trent Williams or get the extra ammo we needed to draft Aiyuk.

AA has nothing to do with Kinlaw. We also didn't pick AA over Buckner. We picked multiple people over Buckner.

Wirfs would have been the starting RG from day 1 and the top swing-T and insurance for MM who we just spent a 5th round $10M tender on. Trent Williams was ALWAYS going to be a priority no matter what. He had nothing to do with them trading back for Buckner's immediate replacement. Aiyuk is definitely part of that equation though. Agreed on everything else.

Yeah. He had knee surgery back in January. I wonder if its the same knee.

Big dudes and knee problems. No bueno.
Not concerned about Kinlaw. They are probably treating anyone that has had to go under a knife with kid gloves.

They said it was a minor cleanup issue in the knee they operated on. Kyle said he thought there might be some fluid he had to have drained. It's not uncommon to have followup procedures on surgeries. I know many non athletes that have had them.
With all the Injuries the team had to deal with last year, It's no suprise they're being extra cautious this year.

Great point, Surprised this has been over looked

Kinlaw better get his big ol' ass out there and start showing why he was taken 14th overall. If Street is the best interior pass rusher we've got going into the season, we're in deep s**t.
