i really hope the choice of moving Buckner instead of Armstead was not a Saleh move.

I feel like we're going to regret that move forever.

Those moves don't get made without Salehs endorsement. It may not have been his decision but if he stood up for Buckner they would of made a way. But he believed the system is the key and kind of proved it even after all the injuries… however it's only a matter of time before he Pete Carroll's a defense and thinks the system is greater than the players and it fails.
We still pining for Buckner? Let it go people…

Give me a break man. Buckner was a great player and person but holy overreaction.

What did we win with Buckner before Bosa/Ford got here? Before Warner turned into one of the best linebackers in the game?

He's not Aaron Donald. Losing him isn't going to break this franchise for crying out loud. It wasn't Buckner for Kinlaw. Not sure how many times it has to be said.

The move allowed us to retain a lot of talent last year in an attempt to make another run at the SB. Just because the year was a fail with all the injuries doesn't mean the move didn't make sense at the time.

It's very likely without Buckner being traded we don't have Kinlaw(certainty), Aiyuk(possibly), Verrett, Brunskill and some other players we were able to sign last year and then retain this offseason due to the cap savings we got moving him last offseason.

We didn't trade a dominant QB, DE, LT or CB. As good as Buckner was his position and his level of play at that position isn't something to haunt a franchise for years.

I'd rather make the move that they made and keep guys like Kittle, Warner and Bosa than extend Buckner to a huge deal and possibly not have the space to keep one of those guys.

We should make another wager on this one.
Kinlaw is going to be good assuming he can stay healthy. I tho m he will really flash with Bosa and Ford on the edges and AA back in the middle this year.

my point is Buckner> Armstead.

We could have paid the little extra for Buckner to keep him and been fine. Let Armstead go or trade him.

My question is what has Armstead done when Bosa, Ford, Warner when these guys weren't around? Nothing

Buckner at least was solid since day 1 and only got better. He's no Donald, correct. But he was still solid and better than Armstead and it's not even close.

Nobody says AA is better than DeFo. Its just odd to hear people say the team will regret this moce considering DT is far from a need right now. All posters that continously bring up DeFo make it seem like DT is some kind of glaring weakness on the roster and not hella deep.

Well i have yet to see someone do what Buckner did. I feel like our success in the run stop in 2019 had to do a lot with Defo.

I mean our replacement is already banged, and most of our DT's were banged up last season.

i just want to see that interior side of our DL be dominate again this season.
Yea it is pretty weird that a guy who isn't even practicing in contact drills pops up with a banged up shoulder

It's deeper but not more talented. I think they expected DJ Jones to step up but he didn't.
