Playing like a draft bust.
I agree his pass rush is not impressive, but he didn't play badly against the run. I thought I saw him on the ball carriers quite a bit. Of course some of that was 4-5 yards down the field.

Had 6 tackles tonight and was good in the run game. Or are you just going to enter this thread and talk crap regardless of what he does?
I'd give him another year of development. Serviceable, but Clearly not Buckner.
As someone said he's looking more like he should be a justin smith type, but not Aaron Donald. If he can't get to the qb often than use that power to eat up two blockers and let the other guys free.

im seriously tired of drafting kids with injury concerns because his knees are never going to get better and they already bother him.
I only watched our last game live so it's hard to focus on some players during an intense game but a few times kinlaw stood out. One play specifically that stood out was on a run play, 2 of Green Bay's oline men were blocking kinlaw and he was holding his ground not being moved. Pretty impressive strength. He has seemed real strong in the run game.

This dude is flying under the radar, but I kept an eye on him. He looked like Zach Kerr in week 1 out there tonight. Also, he gives the team nothing as a pass rusher. They spent the 14th overall pick on this dude to get after the QB.

I'll be honest if we decided to trade him for a corner I wouldn't be sad.

My issue with Kinlaw is not that I dont think he is good, that I dont think he can improve, or that I dont think he will eventually be really good.

My issue is that he has a knee problem that doesnt appear to be getting any better. It looks like this is something that could hinder his development and career. And what makes this even worse is that he didnt just hurt it. It was known before the draft last year that he had knee problems.

I hope for the best out of him, but I am not holding my breath. Big men with ongoing knee problems dont give me a lot of faith.

Me too. Street AA Givens Hurst and Kerr could be good and not a huge drop off. Whereas a very good cb like Gillmore is a huge upgrade
Trending to be one of the worst decisions ever made in 49ers' franchise history. I want to be optimistic and hope for the best, but I've yet to see one--just ONE--game of dominance from Javon Kinlaw. Additionally, he's supposed to be our immovable object against the run, but he got folded like a chair against the Packers too many times. I hope he can get things going.

You posted a few clips last year where you said he flashed dominance

I keep watching for Kinlaw during the game but don't see much. The coaching staff has hyped him from day one.

My bad, I meant a dominant game. He's yet to have a game where he absolutely dominates from start to finish. When is Kinlaw going to have the game where he takes over? He hasn't even come remotely close to that.

Yes, he had a few flash plays as a rookie. But it's time to start producing like the 14th overall pick.

Especially considering all the other talent on the line.
