The underwhelming and disappointing draft picks are piling up.
Nobody expected Kinlaw to be Aaron Donald, but we did expect Kinlaw to be more than just a 2-down run defender--the type of run defenders you draft on day 3 and not 14th overall.
Ding, ding, ding!
Draft is a crap shoot, bro.
If drafts are a crap shoot, then why not use the picks for proven players???

Because It's much cheaper to pay player's on a rookie salary, than It Is to keep trading for expensive veterans. That's my guess anyway.

Kinlaw is having a real good season; I don't know what all the fuss is. Yea he's not a sack artist but man he's plugging up that middle! I just worry about that knee. He's alwasy gonna get Sh** because he's the guy we got rid of Buck for. Im very pleased at his development. He was super raw coming out of SC. It was all strength & brute force. Buckner was so refined coming in as a rookie.

Kin is contributing - that's the best he can do right now, with that knee, continuing flaring up on him.

It will only get better with the wear and tear of football + age!

He is? PFF grades are a bit easier for DT's esp. in a one gap scheme like ours. He's got a 50 grade. That's poor in run defending and pass rush. That's a replacement level player grade.
It's super unfortunate because he does have elite physical traits but that knee and his rawness seem to get the best of him.

Buckner was durable and reliable. Maybe his single best trait on an injury prone team. DeFo missed exactly one game due to injury in his four years here. Lynch always talks about trying to find "Foundational" players, DeFo was that and more and Lynch traded him away and then drafted a lesser, non foundational type player.
