Bust
Somebody needs to stage an intervention or something to stop them from continually rolling the dice on guys with major injury risks.

"The coaches love a player? They think he's got tremendous talent and potential? Cool, cool. His injury history says STFU and pick someone else!"

For as young as he is, to be having chronic inflammation and at his size, yeah I'm not seeing a happy ending to this story.

It's not cap savings when your rookies only contribute a quarter or third of their rookie contract years. Might as well pay a vet 2-3x as much and have them fully contribute.

This. We need to start going after players with production instead of potential (Especially, players that medical flags)
I'm still not getting what's going on with his knee. Why did it need "reconstruction?" The dude was dunking footballs over the goalpost. If it's chronic, will it keep happening?

Yes.

chron·ic
/ˈkränik/
adjective
adjective: chronic
(of an illness) persisting for a long time or constantly recurring.

As for his knee, the hope is surgery will fix the problem. Do you have confidence in a 49ers' player not having constant / future medical problems? Me neither.
Bust.

End of debate
Who needs ACLs? Reconstruction, deconstruction, whatever. Next year Rams are going to have reconstruct Matthew Stafford after he gets Kinlawed.
So we basically traded Buckner for nothing.

Saved millions, I guess winning is not the goal.
Team tried to moneyball with Buckner, and it backfired. You don't replace an All-Pro leader/captain with a rookie. Hope to God they learn from this and don't repeat the same mistake.

100% this. We can't money ball effectively, and we can't sign-everyone-and-manipulate-the-cap (the Rams) effectively, so here we are.
