Lynch said he first injured it against the Cowboys in December, 2020. This was on top of the problems he was having in college. Rather than operate they tried to see if it would heal on it's own but apparently it just kept getting worse. Hopefully this surgery will fix the problem and allow him to play on a more regular basis. He's certainly not the first guy to undergo ACL surgery.

It sounded like he had several surgeries/procedures in the off season. I don't think they ever clarified what those were though. Clean ups?

That may be but this sounded like he had an ACL that might have been deformed thus making the reconstructive surgery necessary. They may have seen something when they got in there that wasn't seen on the MRI. They referred to them as "chronic changes". ACLs can sometimes heal on their own if the tear isn't too bad. I had one years ago in my right knee and I chose to let it heal since I wasn't playing any sports. It eventually quit causing any pain. It sounds like that's what they tried in his case but with that big body moving around and putting all that stress on it , I don't see why they thought it would heal on it's own.

Highly likely. Be prepared for that mentally just to be safe.

John and Kyle's future injury statement:

"So, there's a knee there. After some procedures, um, tracking in the right direction, but also a back, where concussions come from so we're monitoring that closely. We just want to be careful on that elbow and be judicious there."

NC, you're missing about 20 more um's. They should just do what the Rams do and trade away their top 2 draft pics to proven players like they did with Ramsey and Stafford. Whoever drafts in the back end does a damn good job. Most of out top picks never see the field.
So this mofo caught JalenHurditis too. Fml
Kinlaw - the talent is there the body is not.

Dan, you're right. I've got some more studying up to do. Hoov is helping me. I'll have a perfect quote for you soon. Kidding.

That is certainly one strategy. If it doesn't work out the fans can at least say, they're going for it.

Nobody was paying money to watch me walk into my office every day so I was able to take my time healing.

terrible comparison. Kinlaw has played in 18 games, Hurd 0.

I did a breakdown of our picks. We are probably are ahead or worse case scenario on par with half the league. The better option however would be to just go with the Webzone. Pick a mock. Almost any mock for days 1 and 2. Stick with whatever they do on day 3. We'd have a team ready to compete for Super Bowls lol.

This thing with Kinlaw virtually puts him out of OTAs. Maybe he makes training camp, maybe? But sheesh, it'll be three years and yeah. And I liked the Kinlaw pick. Wouldn't have traded Buckner. Didn't like the injury concerns. But here we are. May as well lock this thread until idk....April, May? I don't see anything good coming out.
This sounds more like a Chronic ACL tear. Where it was done earlier but it wasn't obvious when it happened and didn't show up on an MRI. That happens in many cases where the injury wasn't obvious at the time. A chronic tear sometimes looks normal on an MRI and many times requires additional test to find. Sounds like after a couple of minor procedures didn't help they did more testing with a scope and found the Chronic tear. The upside to Chronic vs Acute tears is most people return to pre surgery strength faster than those with acute tears. The downside is long term chronic tear without repair can hasten Early onset osteoarthritis. My best guess is if everything went well he will feel much better and stronger next fall. He had to be playing through terrible pain and swelling.

Hmmm. Good point. A minor case than? Since I think all he has is a blocked field goal on his stat sheet.
