I think we have to go nothing but OL and DL in the draft and try to get help at DB via free agency.

I'm sure you were saying the same thing about Armstead his first couple years here too

Actually no. Armstead has always been a good player. People just think sack totals are what define a player and predictably AA didn't get praise until he had that string of sacks. He's always been good. Oh and AA stays healthy.

Kinlaw on the other hand was an injury concern coming out of college and has been average at best when he plays. He's now coming off of another major surgery and the 49ers would be dumb to rely on him becoming a dominant player without way more depth at DT.

Even with Kinlaw at least one of them would be crucial. It's a long season and that's an important position.

Sounds like Jones will be too expensive but they need to bring back some of the guys who made an impact down the stretch; Key, Omenihu, Willis.

Armstead was injured his 2nd and 3rd year Oscar.

Not sure who Oscar is Franklin but the injuries AA had early in his career were to his shoulder and hand--not nearly as worrisome as having an ACL reconstruction for chronic damage from football by year 2 of your NFL career.

AA has played and started in 71 of the last 71 games for the 49ers.

We will be happy if we get 10 productive games out of Kinlaw in 2022.

It's from The Office. But I'm not disagreeing about Kinlaw it's very concerning on and off the field (due to injury) has been incredibly disappointing.

It's not for lack of trying for sure, but it must be incredibly frustrating to have surgery and it didn't help that first time. Hopefully he's healthy and can play.

LOL, I see, sorry I missed it.

My hope is that this ACL reconstruction allows him to start over and he doesn't have ongoing inflammation/swelling in the knee after playing games moving forward.

He has probably been playing with a partially torn acl since college. Which would definitely cause swelling and irritation problems. From what was reported he didn't have a complete tear with structural damage. When they did this last procedure the surgeon did an acl reconstruction so as we have seen with Bosa who's had two acl repairs you can bounce back quickly. We will see but this surgery is less invasive than having an acl blowout with motion and torque on the knee.
Fingers crossed his knee issues are behind him . He is going to be needed

But but I was told he was limping and should go on IR

People get so dramatic in here

Ahh the good ol' days...

doing that with a messed up knee Get him back to 100% and finally correct the issue.

I thought he was really talented coming out of college. Viewed him as a game wrecker. I still believe that. Just needs to get past his injury problems. I wished they would have taken care of it after the Cowboys game instead of waiting and acting like everything was fine and wasting a development year.

But to your point, he didn't look to shabby out there with a bum knee. If he can get healthy, I think he can become that game wrecker I saw coming out of SC.

Yeah im sorry but people here were hating hard on Armstead for a while. This is why I'm okay with being patient with kinlaw, but if he isn't fully healthy this season then that unfortunately wraps it up for him.
