Right, but if Kinlaw loses weight, he's going to lose more muscle than fat, which actually decreases his explosiveness. In regards to his power, Kinlaw is a strong dude. The problem is he plays too damn high. He consistently allows guards to get inside his framework. It doesn't matter how big and strong you are in the NFL if that keeps happening. Also, he rarely sets up his power rushes. The dude just fires off the ball and runs directly into the guard without any nuance at all. He needs to actually use his hands with a counter move like a double swipe or arm over to threaten the edges of a guard and open up the power rush.

Im torn. I think that he wont bull his way through nfl lineman so he needs quicks. But hell need to add typev2 miscle and lose some type 1. And he has no blubber. So he has to rearrange his strength. Going lighter will help his knees.

But if you are saying technique, do you think hell learn from bosa? Or kk?

Street didn't do anything special to be concerned about losing

The team needs to have a plan B in place if Kinlaw can't stay in the lineup. Hurst and Kevin Givens are not stout run stoppers.

It's definitely technique, and he knows it. Bosa and KK can only help so much. The dude needs to put in the work in the offseason, but unfortunately, he's likely spending more time on rehabbing that knee than getting better. I think we're a season away in 2023 from actually seeing whether Kinlaw is going to become a good player.

Agreed. They need a plan B even if he can stay in the line up. Gonna have to fill that gap in the draft or late in FA.

Without knowing the draft class, there should be a run stuffing big boy available on day 3.

We need more damn beef insside. This season really highlighted the need for bigger, stronger interior DL capable of defeating the double teams offenses assault this front with. Whether that's splitting them, turning them into doubles into singles, or simply being immovable, guys like Givens and Streets proved to be liabilities at times out there.

We do have slender looking interior lineman Hurst and Givens have very little girth for their positions.

Yes, need a couple immoveable objects on the inside to allow Warner and company to diagnose and clean up. I don't see a big bodied backup for Kinlaw on the roster at the moment. Darrion Daniels is no longer on the team. I do feel confident the team will address this whether free agent bargain bin or the draft.

DJ Jones is like the perfect body type and athlete for the wide 9. Explosive and athletic enough to work laterally, upfield, and penetrate but also squatty, stout, and difficult to move. They need to find the next DJ Jones.

No, we let Buckner go for Armstead. We filled the gap with Kinlaw. We didn't trade Buckner because we liked Kinlaw better. Why don't people get this?

I mean the dude is already pretty lean for an IDL. He'd likely be losing more muscle than fat if he were to cut.

lol he has six pack abs at 315. I don't think he has a weight problem. Its technique and durability.
He needs to get his body right this offseason so he remains healthy and on the field. It's his time to step up now and fill the void left by DJ Jones.
