Lynch can say whatever he wants about this pick but so far it's been terrible. He's been an average DT when he plays (our team got better when he left the lineup) and very injury prone when he's out there. Then you let the 27 year old DT who's been playing phenomenal in his absence walk in FA.

The 49ers are putting a ton of faith in Aaron Banks and Javon Kinlaw. If these 2 guys don't become impact players we are going to look back at this offseason and wonder what Lynch was thinking.

We drafted him that high knowing he had knee issues. This pick has mega bust written all over it. Even if we can somehow manage to get one or two good seasons from him, how long can those knees hold up?
Yeah just cause Gore was a HOFer, not the norm with bad knees.

Plus Gore was f**king incredible when healthy. Kinlaw was still a project even forgetting the health issues.

The old "he has amazing athletic abilities". We need him to be great hopefully that logic will work this time.
It's difficult to take what he says about his health at face value, since he's said before he wasn't hurt and now he's saying he's been hurt for awhile. I think if he is indeed healthy then he has the potential to be a contributor, and maybe more. But he has no excuses-he brought up Nick Bosa as a template, and the way Bosa came back from ACL is probably the best example Kinlaw could have available to him and he's in the same locker room. He's also on a Kurocek coached D-Line. This dude has everything in his favor coming into the season, if his knee is straightened out. So it's on him.

He has to just be trolling with these really dumb trades, right? There's just no way someone actually thinks like this.

His injury had nothing to do with "arthritis" dude was basically playing on a torn ACL. A couple teams said he has a chance of having arthritis down the road not one single team took him off their boards or failed Kinlaw's physical

Let's at least get the story straight before hating....

What knee issues? A couple teams said he might have arthritis down the road. Not a single team took him off their boards or failed Kinlaw's physical from what was reported. I believe he missed one game in his college career.

He legit hurt is knee in the Dallas game, turned out he tore his ACL and the clean up he had last off season wasn't the proper procedure to fix it. Sounds like he's finally 100% and got everything done correctly. He's still got work to do in the development department as a pass rusher, I expect strides to be made though. That talent and skill set is sky high.

As long as 300+ pound offensive linemen don't hit him I think his knees will be fine.

So Just line him up against the 180 Lb linemen I guess?

Agree, but I'd still like some depth at the DT position. The DLine, OLine, and the RB corps have - historically - been always hit hard by injuries. I'd like some drafted talent and depth at all three. That's easier said than done, of course, but at least with 9 picks (and I'm hoping Jimmy can be traded for more draft picks around draft day or sooner) even more picks for depth and for future injury insurance. God knows who we will lose for the season (knock on wood) before the pre-season even begins.
