This is definitely part of it. He thinks being bigger than everyone will work at the NFL level since it probably has everywhere else. He isn't a football player, just a big strong guy. Oh and he has bad knees.

I hate to pile on the guy because he's been through a lot growing up the way he did but the 49ers can't make this personal with him. Just admit you made a mistake and move on. Addition by subtraction. He will catch on somewhere for a 2nd chance and he's made enough $ as a #1 pick to where if he's smart he and his family are set for literally generations.

shoulda drafted j jefferson
We should try and trade for JOEY.. if impossible, then try to sign CLOWN... It's best to sign him now because he knows he's been a below average as #1 overall pick and may just want to prove something before he's done..

Bill Walsh loved signing players who's got some thing to prove still.

Damn, Ian Williams calling him out now. Terrible look for Kinlaw. He'll probably respond with a video threatening to beat him up. 🤡

The all hindsight team.. it's a dumb game but let's play

QB1 Brady
QB2 ARodgers
QB3 Mahomes
WR Jefferson
TE Kittle
KR/PR DeSean Jackson

I dont think its using hindsight to say we should have drafted Ceedee Lamb. Jefferson, it is because no one had any idea he was going to be THIS good. What I can say is that Kinlaw should have never been the pick (said it 4 seconds after his name was read off), and he has done nothing to make me believe I was wrong from the start.

I agree the hindsight game is just that.. easy to ace the test with all the answers. Kinlaw should never have been the pick as we never should have bailed on DeFo just pay the man, you draft a stud, particularly a front seven stud, pay the man.

Even after we bailed on DeFo, he shouldn't have been the pick IMO. But no, we should have never bailed on DeFo.
It was, as it turns out in hindsight, just a poor pick. Part of it was that many teams red flagged his knee. But bad picks happen. Coulda woulda shoulda is useless. A good start going forward would be, draft healthy players only. Thats just part of the problem though. The other part is that Kinlaw isn't that good.

Solid post!
The question is whether the knee is still hindering him, physically or mentally. Either way, he needs to spend this offseason getting ready to be the guy he was drafted to be. When AA was not in the game, our DTs got exposed.

Cutting Kinlaw leaves us with $4,9M in dead money. May as well keep him and see if he can earn it.

Yeah I don't see him ever starting without an injury to anyone ahead of him. Coaches may find a spot in the rotation for him - IF he shows substantial improvement by next season, otherwise cut bait and draft another. Right now he is the easiest to replace on the team.
