I really get a kick out of watching him. He is the equivalent of a tackle sled.

Kinlaw just doesn't know how to play football. He was always considered an athlete and project who needed more refinement and hasn't been healthy enough to hone his technique in.

I love Kocurek but some blame has to be on him as well for this lack of development. Of course Kinlaw's bad health doesn't help.

When the coach has a history of developing players and getting the most out of them, he gets a pass from me when one doesn't pan out. Total pass.

This. He turns chicken s**t into chicken salad. So this speaks more about Kinlaw.

He's just not picking up the technique needed to be good at this level. If he stays healthy I can actually see him down the line being good, but that's years away. It's gonna take awhile for it to click with him.

Reminds me of Solly Thomas. Thomas is an all world athlete and dominated with size and strength at Stanford. Got to the pro's and just got moved around with ease.

These dudes think they dominate in college and just don't have to work for it. This is what happens when you eat your own hype sandwiches all day and don't have the rice, Jordan, Kobe, Brady mentality to work like they want to be the best.
I've said this previously and still believe it but I think he could be best as an offensive tackle. The one thing he has going for him is his ability to push someone back 1 on 1. When he gets doubled, he gets pushed out of the play. Put him at offensive tackle and let him combo block with a guard to knock a d end or d tackle out of the play. Plus he supposedly is athletic so you would think he could at least pass block somewhat decent.

Looks like Kinlaw is picking up right where he left off.

My amateur eye thought he sucked but was waiting for your input and Waterbear's.

We should just cut him, no?

If his knee gimps out we look for another body. If he can work on holding double teams we let him get better. He s been out of action for 1.5 years.
I genuinely want this guy to succeed but dude, he's really taking up a key spot as the first interior DL off the bench. They should be able to upgrade him significantly with a veteran off the street. We do this annually anyhow.

I would have signed Matt Ioannidis last night

Yeah, with AA's injury history, next man up needs to be a quality player. Givens is OK. We know nothing about Davis. Kinlaw is a turnstile and McGill is solid but on the outside looking in because of Kinlaw. Hyder and Ferrell can play a bit inside too but...
Niners really need to stop picking these potential but raw picks. It's not the size of the boat but the motion in the ocean.
