Same

Why? He's not worth much in a trade especially since his contract is over after this year. But trading a player who's producing on a win now roster for presumably a future draft pick doesn't make any sense. If he keeps doing what he's doing then he's going to be an asset for the team this year.

It does make sense if they believe T.Y Mcgill is better than Kinlaw.

If they believed that he wouldn't be on the PS right now.

Not necessarily, if they believe Kinlaw and McGill are a better combination than McGill and some random street FA.

Alot of football left to play before we go talking numbers.

Maybe but I'm allowed to speculate and I believe by years end I will be correct. Also, the 5th round is our money round

Oh yea of course u're allowed to speculate....just want u to recognize that you've locked him into a certain level of play for 15+ potential games that's not too great and not too bad either. Pretty extreme, given the earliness.

You don't think as of right now, even if he doesn't finish the whole year or get gaudy numbers he won't get 6 or so million per year by a desperate team for a former 1st round pick? That's right around the comp 5th range. So not extreme at all imo

Here are some thoughts about a potential Kinlaw trade:
- He'd save the 49ers $2.7M in '23 with no impact in future years because we declined his 5th year option.
- He's on the field for 30-40% of the defensive snaps, primarily on base downs as a run defender to spell Hargrave and Armstead.
- Like it or not, he's had some impact with a PD and a pressure.
- If he keeps this trajectory up, he'd likely net us a 6th-7th round comp pick for us.
- Right now, he's too much of an injury risk for other teams. They would likely trade him for a conditional pick that would yield a similar value as an expected comp pick.
- I think the 49ers would be more serious about trading him if McGill and Davis stood out. But our FO and coaching staff think he's at the top of our second unit.

If you believe the above to be true, I rather have Kinlaw for a full year and eventually get that comp pick in '25 vs. a day 3 selection in the '24 draft.

I personally believe that the Brick After Brick Brothers are keeping him because he's still worth more than a 5th..

McGill's competition for a roster spot was with Kalia Davis who missed most of training camp and preseason.

Waits until his contract year to play well. Shocking.

Yeah. But who gives a f**k as long as he helps us win a title?

He told everyone it was the knee injury affecting his play. Now that he had the surgery to fix it, he can play pain free. Not a shock at all.

Saying he is playing well due to a contract year is like saying Bosa isn't playing well cause he got paid. Bosa isn't in Football shape yet after missing all of training camp.

Kinlaw finally got his injuries taken care of.

We expect the worse, so it's all upside.
he hasn't been a liability yet this season and has even had a few plays, I think the hope is that he can develop week to week and be an asset by December, and that would be great. If he helps win a ring in any way; crucial sack, stop, pressure, etc, then the pick was worth it. we will see
he is a ghost out there, get s pushed around, looks like he doesn't have a clue on what needs to be done

He's as visible as the other Javon.
