They should give Bosa partial credit for Kinlaw's sack. He inadvertently sprung Kinlaw free by tripping the OL off him. But seriously, Kinlaw had a good game.

Well done big fella. Hurts looked like a squirrel there.

The Philly turf gets credit for the half sack🤣
If JK was like Dre Greenlaw, he would have been aware enough to knock the ball out of Hurts hands and got the turnover.

Look how he drilled that player before the sack lol. This felt like the momentum changer. We just needed a little something to go our way and there it was. Hurts was playing a little arrogant and it bit him. Well done indeed.

What was going on with the pass rush yesterday? There were some downs where Hurts had time to build a camp fire. Does our OL hold opposing DLs the same way our line gets constantly held?

The lack of pressure was concerning although I'm wondering how much of that had to do with being lane disciplined and to prevent Hurts from scrambling.

That was the entire game plan. They focused on rushing as a group, not getting too deep and staying in their rush lanes. When you stay in your rush lane and limit your depth, players are limited by how they can rush ie only power. When an OL as good as Philly's knows the Niners' DL is trying to do this, it ends up a stalemate and a battle to stay in a rush lane between every OL and DL. The 49ers pass rush did an amazing job last night.

Bosa mentioned that in his post game presser.. but i hate that assignment when facing QBs that don't move well. Just go and attack

They pin their ears back against QBs that can't move, but caging QBs is a core principle that is built into the wide 9. It's just a lot more forgiving if guys get too deep or out of their lanes against a QB that can't move.

You saw early what happened when we tried stunts/pass rush: hurts got outside and it's a problem. After that, it was pretty clear the goal was 100% edge integrity. It's not sexy but it worked, and the unsung heroes on the DL were the DTs. Hurts had nowhere to step up, got flushed out and had to throw the ball away time and time again

It worked great. Best performance this defense has had against a very good running qb in a long time. Everytime Hurts tried to get outside there was a defender running to cut him off or a DB was sitting there waiting for him I mena folks were killing Wilks and this defense played much better this year than last. They had no edge integrity last year.

Yeah Bosa's postgame comments were very telling about the gameplan. He mentioned how the group was unselfish and executed the gameplan as a unit. He straight up said that when there is pressure in his face, Hurts will take his eyes off the WRs and look at the rush, and that was the objective.

Exactly, it's what every defense dreams of doing against Philly.
