They added Chase Young and he's been okay but the line still isn't what you would expect. I see people blaming Wilks but not many are blaming Kocurek.
100%
this DL has had tons of resources dumped into it an somehow only gets worse. Our edge rushers rarely get home, we have little push in the middle an are very gashable on runs up the middle. Chase young has clearly been very mediocre since acquired an the fact that Washington's other DE yielded much more in his trade an got a fat contract rught away should have told us that sweat was the better DE we should have went after. Hopefully he's waiting until the playoffs to ramp it up. Now with adding SJD ANOTHER quality DL late in the season there is definitely no excuse for this group to not get push an pressure. They are as loaded as you can get. We literally have no more room to add anymore players here.
im hoping this team has just gotten cocky and has been "coasting" an saving their effort for the playoffs so once we get there they hit another level of effort an play that is up to their full potential. Cause what they've done so far is not their full potential.
Young talked during the week about how he was looking forward to playing Wash. Talk is cheap. Some of the lack of sacks are the result of the scheme that Wilks runs. He emphasizes staying in their lanes so they can't get over aggressive. AA doesn't make a lot of splashy plays but it's clear that he's important in stopping the run game . They've been a sieve since e got hurt. I hope he can make it back for the playoffs because they can't allow teams to run and keep drives going. This team is built to play from the lead and they can't do that very well if the offense is on the sideline.
