Crazy, huh? But this isn't the first time Kinlaw looked decent in the playoffs. I vividly remember some really good reps last season vs Seattle until he absolutely went off the rails against Philly. If he can just stay locked in and believe in his ability, I really believe he could be the difference in the run game.

Love it. You know I was just playing. The tape says it all. If he's coming around, keep it rolling.

This is an OL (Lions) on crutches right now and they have a license to dominate!
Baldinger is on KNBR at the moment and just highlighted the play of Javon Kinlaw. To paraphrase: "He wasn't just effective, he was very effective." And another: "the best game Kinlaw has played in a long time (against the Packers)."

To be honest? I noticed this as well. It wasn't his pass rush that stood out. It is how, at times, he stonewalled the running game. Yeah, it seemed that Green Bay ran at will on the 49er defense. But the tape tells a different story. The Packers managed to spring four or five really big runs. Not shown in the highlight reels are the running plays that the 49er defensive line stopped cold, or allowed less than two yards. That makes for a boring highlight reel anyway, so those plays don't often make the clips posted on YouTube.

Good for Javon. I was waiting for him to show something a little special and he finally did. Baldinger was also slightly critical of Logan Ryan. He said it was his job to hold his ground and force the Packers RB's to stop and make a pivot. Instead, he threw himself at the RB and whiffed on repeated tackles. Once the RB got by Ryan, they were off to the races.

I hope this means we see a bit more of Ji'Ayir Brown this Sunday.
Nice! I'd like to see Kinlaw more than S Joseph Day in this one, feeling like he's peaking at the right moment against the run. Oh hells yes, more him and Brown on Sunday, we stop the run, we go to the super bowl!

Ehhh, I'm still iffy about him... he played well against GB in like 20 snaps I think? I just remember the last time we played in the NFC Champ against a great oline he got tossed around like a rag doll.

That was hard to forget.

To be fair, he was still recovering from knee surgery. Let's hope tomorrow will be different.

He is playing for his FA contract - Put some stuff on tape big guy.
I would line up Armstead at big LDE on 1st down and start Kinlaw at DT next to Hargrave and Bosa at RDE. I'd bring in Chase Young mostly on passing downs. Then on passing downs kick AA back inside. Kinlaw really stepped it up last week against GB, especially in the run game. I think our best chance at stopping Detroit's run game is with Kinlaw at DT and Armstead at LDE over chase young (on running downs)

I don't know how many times this year I talked about how Kinlaw will have awesome first half of the rep and then fail to finish. For the love of God, get the f**k off the block and collect your sack, Kinlaw.

Lol bosa with the leaping lizard attempt
In the above play, surely Wilks should have run a stunt with a blitzing DB/OLB coming up behind Kinlaw to get to the quarterback.

There is enough room for the Titanic there and Kinlaw is a beast at moving the OL backwards.

its hard to see without zooming out but that looks like a cover 2 defense sending a LB blitzer would leave huge part of the middle of the field open for the RB
Can't call him a bust anymore.
