Joe wasn't all that bad but just didn't belong on MNF. Booger was a f**king joke. His analysis was beyond elementary and he would just repeat stupid ass cliches like "and that's what they wanna do Joe, run the ball, play defense, and limit mistakes"

They belonged on ESPN2 covering a mountain west game at 7:30pm on a Friday night.

One thing that has really hurt ESPN's MNF aside from the s**te matchups has been the inconsistency in the booth over the years. Tirico was at least an "A list" play by play man.

Hearing rumors that they will hire from within makes me cringe.

I hope they get it right this time. That was the worst team they've had yet. Tessitore is too over the top for my tastes. Every play is the greatest or unbelievable with him. He over emphasized everything to try and make it sound exciting the same way he does on boxing. If a guy lands a decent jab he makes it sound like it was a thundering left hook. As far as Booger is concerned, what can you say. He was just bad in every way.

they were a worse version of Mauro Renallo and Frank Trigg doing PRIDE.

They should get rid of whoever decided to hire him as well.

Football with a little commentary about the players is okay. I mean real info not just 'I really like that guy' or 'he can really fly'. I don't need 2 guys to comment on every play when it's just routine. I wish they would cut down on screen graphics. A little box in the upper corner with the score, time and down and distance is all we need. I do like the over laid yellow first down line. The one I really find distracting is the crawl that ESPN and some other stations have at the bottom. It kind of takes my eyes away from the game. I wish you could make it disappear like the score guide feature so you could watch it just during commercials.

Agreed. Less is more. Not only with words but also the onscreen graphics. I wish we could eliminate all the graphics. That obviously won't happen, but I'll take the minimal graphics that existed in the 90s along with the yellow 1st down line.
