Is it that announcers cannot hide their biases or that we cannot let go of those we hold toward them and the teams they played for?

colllinsworth can not hide his distain for the niners.. neither than buck.. collinsworth in the seattle game.. oh wait. i think i see him twist this way and get the ball over the goal line.. buck vs the packers. we are up three scores. 1 minute left,,, buck,, THERE IS STILL HOPE FOR GREEN BAY
I really don't think most announcers show much bias. They kind of go back and forth praising whichever team is hot. These guys have to try and appeal to everyone so it wouldn't make sense for them to be biased. Fans are overly sensitive to any criticism of their team or players. I listen carefully when Aikmen does a Niner game or Dallas game and even though you know he loves the Cowboys he does a pretty good job of not showing it. The same goes for Collinsworth who I don't like. Sometimes you can tell he's not a Niner fan and he has a good reason not to be since his team lost both the SB both times they played. But he also had a lot of good things to say about the Niners and Kyle's offense during games last year. The radio announcers for the teams are a different story. They praise and hype their team most of the time.

Aikman does an excellent job. Joe buck is bad, and collinsworth is terrible. I admit most of my joe buck is from baseball though.

Aikman roots for the cowboys, but he does not seem to root against anyone. (Same with darryl johnston).
Joe buck, it comes through the telecast, and is slmost like wstching a (homer) team telecast.
Collinsworth is like watching a haters telecast.

Somehow you didn't hear the way he was praising the Niners in the playoffs. My problem with him isn't bias as much as the way he criticizes individual players or plays like he was the greatest receiver ever and never dropped a pass.
It isn't surprising there are so many different views on the different announcers. Personally, when Joe Buck and Aikman do a game i know it will be a well called game, Troy will have a half dozen calls he makes just prior to them happening, and it is like he is out on the field and you know what is coming. The guy is one of the best announcers around.

Al michaels and Chris Collinsworth...another pair i like to have call a game. Michaels has nothing to prove, so he calls a good game. And Chris makes very good color calls, letting you know when he thinks something is coming.

On the loss to the 9ers. (Twice), i was at the Joe Robbie stadium game with my dad, and with 2 1/2 mins to go we have the ball on the 18 or 20 yd line. Remember when Joe looked up into the stands and said to the team, "look up there...that's John Candy." Well he was pointing right at my dad and me. Then he settled down to business and threw one to Jerry across the middle, and another, i don't recall where. We just marched down the field and with not many seconds or plays left, JT across the middle for the score to win it. Man what a fantastic game. Also my dad had never seen the 9ers play in person, so it was a big deal for both of us.

Fast forward some yrs an Chris Collinsworth is calling a 9er game, in one of those yrs we were just terrible...some yrs we never even got on TV. Anyway he is shooting the breeze wiht Michaels and says, , "every time i saw Joe get the ball against us i got this sick feeling in my stomach. On that last drive, we just watched him march the 9ers down the field. With every completed pass i just felt that SB ring being taken off my finger. And, i never got one. " So he has an admiration for the 9ers of yore and has made jokes many times about joe just taking a little more of that ring off his finger with every play. Hey, how can you not like a guy like that.

As far as other broadcasters go...not impressed...but i sure like those two crews.

How about Pat McAfee?
Now that Booger McFarland is out, you probably won't hear Booger McFarland's voice as often on Monday Night Football.

That was my Booger McFarland impression. How did I do? I think the only way I could improve it is to say something that is proven to be false five seconds later.

Nah I think Booger's calls are more incorrect statements and horrible opinions. You guys sound like John Madden lol.

Here's some of his quotes:

"Talking about the Minneapolis Miracle (Dec. 2019): "These are the type of plays that historically have gone against the Vikings — the Minneapolis Miracle — plays that are fluke plays that went against this team. I'm sure Vikings fans are saying it's about time we get one of these plays to go our way." *The Vikings most certainly won the Minneapolis Miracle game."

— His disaster of a Rams-Ravens game (Nov. 2019): Booger was in rare form for game between Los Angeles and Baltimore, producing a number of wild lines. After the Rams moved from the seven-yard line to the 12-yard line in the red zone because their center jumped offsides, McFarland fired this off. "I know you never want to get penalties. I understand that. You never want to get them. But this may actually help the Rams, because it gives them more room. Because all the Ravens are going to do as you get down close to the 10-yard line, the field shrinks. If you can't run it in, it gets tough. So this may actually help the Rams as they try to pass this ball into the end zone." And then… "The Rams, you know, have yellow uniforms." "If I'm the Rams, I'm gonna force Lamar (Jackson) to have the football. All you've got to do is tackle him." "Tess, in order for Lamar Jackson to win MVP, he will have to convince people he is more valuable than Patrick Mahomes."

— This odd Zac Taylor take (Sept. 2019) With the Bengals down by 24-3 in an eventual 27-3 loss that would drop them to 0-4 on the season, McFarland couldn't help but gush about Cincy's coach. "I do like what Zac Taylor is doing here In Cincinnati. I like what they're building. I like their energy that Zac Taylor has brought from the West Coast to the East Coast."

Ya idk why ppl think hes a niner hater. Maybe bc hes not kissing niner ass every play
My problem with certain announcers, (Aikman and Collingsworth being two of them) isn't so much that they show bias in what they say about The 49ers or other teams, but rather that they often get caught up announcing the games from one team's perspective much more than other's. For example, if the Niners or whoever scores, the emphasis seems to more often be on the opposing team's defense, and visa versa when they're on offense.

And this is the problem. You have plenty of peoplw saying Aikman is actually good and doesn't show bias, but those saying otherwise.

Its pretty obvious. Every single fan base hates all the announcers lol. They all show some for of bias at one point or another and its never gonna change. There isnt one fan base out there that doesn't think the same about Collinsworth.

Pretty much this. Very glad he's out of the MNF booth now. Was difficult listening to - I don't want that in a MNF broadcast.
