I put fan noise as a very minor part of the equation.

If that was true then why do you see players on the sideline and even on the field trying to pump up the crowd. They hear it and it is a factor. How big is debatable since you can't really measure it. Must be a pretty big deal in Seattle. They do that 12th man thing before every game. It's such a big deal with them that they stole the 12th man name from Texas A&M and had to go to court to work out an agreement.

Yeah but crowds don't show up unless their team is good. Which is why places like Seattle were irrelevant prior to Wilson. Places like Kansas City has always had a great fan base that's loud as F and haven't always been some juggernaut team cause they have the loudest fans. I'm not saying it isn't an advantage but I don't consider it very important.

Seattle's response "yeah we already got that set up"

lol home field advantage would be ridiculous. Defense on the field, max level jet engine roar. Offense on the field, absolute silence.

LOL Didnt even consider that.
They should let fans login to their home games on zoom or skype and just pump their cheering into the sound system. They can bounce around different video feeds of fans at home or in whatever is allowed for small gatherings at bars.

They just want noise? Why not just amplify Joe Buck's "commentary"?

I was drunk in Cabo and literally all you could hear was Joe Bucks voice echoing throughout the streets because of all the sports bars blasting the sound of NFL football.

It was one of the more horrific things I've ever experienced.

Only the FCC's biggest nightmare
I wouldn't mind just hearing the sounds from the field but it could be a problem for the censors. Lot's of bad language during a game and hearing the agonizing groans from players that get hurt might offend some people. Not sure I would have enjoyed hearing Alex Smith scream and the sound of that leg breaking.

Let people go to the games. The strong will survive the virus and the weak will die, period. Every human being will eventually get it, let us develop immunity as it happened with the flu.

Not likely. Each person that gets infected infects about 3 other people. The number of cases would rise too fast and overwhelm the hospitals. The whole idea of social distancing is to flatten the curve so the spread is slowed down which gives us a better chance of finding ways to treat it and eventually get a vaccine.

I agree there. But people believes that the virus will dissapear or there will be a vaccine. It'll happen just as the 1918 pandemic, eventually it'll be over because everyone will be infected, resulting in immunity or death for each case. There is not a vaccine for the flu so we had to learn to live with it. Today it still kills lots lots of people.
Eventually the lockdown will have to be over, little by little.
They could allow only 1/4 of total capacity in stadiums and no food stands. Leave 2 stands empty between each 2 persons, and very controlled in and out. Let people with an strong body survive it and develop immunity.

I know piping noise into stadiums is related to the virus but let's steer this thread back to its original topic.
There is alot they can do to involve fans. I stream a ton of live shows and there is always chat and emoji storms with it. Could tie in the canned noise to how online fans are reacting
I dont see why everyone is against this.
