Joe Buck says crowd noise will be pumped into empty NFL stadiums.

I put fan noise as a very minor part of the equation.

If that was true then why do you see players on the sideline and even on the field trying to pump up the crowd. They hear it and it is a factor. How big is debatable since you can't really measure it. Must be a pretty big deal in Seattle. They do that 12th man thing before every game. It's such a big deal with them that they stole the 12th man name from Texas A&M and had to go to court to work out an agreement.

It is an aspect of the game but when it comes down to it no you don't need fans to play. You ever see these guys practice??? There's no fans there and they're going at it. It's a warrior mentality type game.

If you really need fans in the seats to play the game then s**t you're playing the wrong game.

Fans are an extra factor yes, but you don't need them to get pumped up and execute a play.
Without fans to show off for, hopefully the players stop with the ridiculous group photos after every tackle.

Don't get me wrong, I like me some celebrating, just not showboating. I believe the players lose focus posing like that. I love when teams showboat during the game and have their heads down at the end when they lost the game. Unless you're the Bengals. They can celebrate every good play since they only have maybe one per game.

If they pump crowd noise, they should have a decibel meter that the refs can monitor to make sure its not higher than what the crowd would be. Also, they would have to figure out actual cheering for a great play versus ambient noise. It's different types of sounds. Defensive third down noise is different than the roar of the crowd after an 80 yard TD run.

If any of you have watched WWE or UFC without crowd noise, you have to agree that it is weird. Sometimes its cool hearing things you wouldn't otherwise hear, but without a crowd being pumped up it's just not the same.

I'm so with you on that stupid group celebrating!! It's fkn lame. My 11 yr old son thinks it's stupid too.
The 49ers will have the edge if we play in empty stadiums having had been use to it for five years prior to this year.

I agree and never liked it since it began. It's fine for players to celebrate but this choreographed garbage is a joke. Then they make it worse but making rules for them and penalizing teams if they break the rules. Just ban them and let player be players.

LOL
When it's all said and done we will look back years from now and realize this was the biggest overreaction to an event in U.S. history. Less then 1% of the entire country has been affected by this virus.

That's because the country has been staying home instead of going to large events and crowded restaurants. Today was the 1st day in Eugene, OR that restaurants were allowed to open on a limited basis. I drove past several and the parking lots had a lot of cars. It's like people think the virus is gone. Went into the drug store and half the people weren't wearing masks. We'll see a new spike in case just like South Korea and China did when they tried to reopen too soon.

Not going to happen. It will be like Madden with the fake noise and fake crowd.

And players don't celebrate for fans. Don't you remember when you were young playing backyard ball and you score on your friends? You celebrate out of accomplishment and to rub it in the opponent.
I think there will be more fights.
That doesn't really affect Seacawks they've been doing it for a decade.
Think how creative the organizations could get with piped in chants lol.

Better safe than sorry.
