And that's why you need to spend responsibly. That said if they get a SB this year I'd call it a success

If the Cap drops I think the Niners are better off than most teams due to having alot of contracts off the books after 2020 and some guys who are replaceable. They could just let both Jet and Coleman go, Don't re-sign Thomas and Tarrt and then just find the right contract offers to Sherman, Jones, Blair,Bourne, etc. And they wouldn't lose much in team talent. I think this is the biggest reason they haven't extended Kittle yet, They have no idea what the cap will be and they don't have to sign him yet. Players values will drop(even if slightly) if the cap drops. Chiefs GM is getting alot of praise but they would be one of the teams who would be in deep trouble if the Cap drops.
Agreed.

Agreed.

If the cap goes down by as much as $70M, the 49ers will be in trouble, they'll need to restructure or offload vets making a lot of money, AA, Ward, Jimmy, Dee, Kwon, Richburg would all be candidates for restructures. It would also make retaining key FAs like Sherm, Juice, Kittle, Trent, K'Waun very difficult. I personally don't see the cap dropping, I see the cap being flat at $198.2M like it is for 2020.

If the cap is flat, the 49ers right now would be only $27M under the cap as of now, this is before cuts of course, they would probably have $35M ish after cuts for 2020, before Kittle's extension. If the 49ers were to restructure Jimmy and Dee's deals for 2020, they'd save around $28.5M, and could carry it over into 2021.
not great

Can we please take the child beater off our homepage? He might be fast but he's a f**king horrible person and father.
Seahawks mortgage their future for Jamal Adams...?

And a 3rd rounder next year, and a player. Unless Seattle wins the SB this year this is a total fleecing.
It might end up being a good move. They haven't had a safety be able to effectively play the single high since that Earl Thomas left a couple years ago.

They have the potential to be almost as annoying as they were a few years back. I hate the Cawks.

Adams is not gonna play single high.

And most of our plays are designed to catch the ball under 15 yds. High price but they know how to stop us.

I'm not one to bash every move the Seahawks make. I think he's the kind of player you need to defend our over the middle pass game. Plus he rushes the passer, defends screens, and very good against the run.

But the Seahawks were very lucky to have made it to the playoffs last season and I don't think he's gonna put them over the top.

I would rank the big three from our rivals as this:

1. D. Hopkins to Cards
2. J. Adams to Seahawks

..........3 J. Ramsey to LA

Another way to look at it is that SEA finally has some legit targets for Wilson. They always run the ball well. And just because Adams is on SEA doesn't mean he's going to cause some havoc around the box and in the backfield.

SEA did get better. It's THAT simple. Pete is very good at allowing talent to play extremely well by simplifying game plans to players' strengths. SEA will be a better team than last year. Let's not let the hate blind us into being, once again, surprised by this team.

SEA doesn't just play games, they fight as if they are the toughest scrapper in the ring. This is why teams are worn out and banged up after a game with SEA.
