NFL to propose incentives to hire minorities

Agreed. I think Pheonix is spot on with this subject.

Start developing minority candidates so they cannot be overlooked. It's 2020 and more teams will hire the best candidate.

if there were good asian RBs out there, they would be signed.

the point is, majority of NFL players are black, and there are very few HCs and GMs that are black. not sure wtf this has to do with Asian RBs.

going with that, cant we say if there were good black HCs and GMs, they would be signed?

They should do more of an internship angle, if they want to tie in a draft reward (looks like it equates to a 4th round pick) then give teams basically an incentive to fund some of these positions that is equal to the 4th round pick. More jobs created

Agree they need to approach this from the bottom up...if they try to force teams to sign minorities, I think that'd backfire. If you reward teams that sign minority HC's or GM's what about the teams who already have them...seems like they'd get the short end of the stick. Every team wants to hire the best coaches, GM's and FO people they can find. The key is to insure there's a program to grow and groom them for those jobs. The pool has to get bigger...once it is, it should lead to more minorities getting more promotions. No easy solutions...it'll take time to grow more viable minority candidates. But, I don't see a better option out there.

Number of minority HCs = 4
Percentage of minority HCs = 12.5%

2019 Census Demographics
Caucasian = 76.5%
Minority = 23.5%

Safe to say that cutting these census numbers in half would give you a fairly accurate % of males.

Minority Male Population = 11.75%
Minority Male HCs = 12.5%


TL;DR - we need more female HCs.

I wish this was the case.

But for some reason, the NFL has decided that the black mans place in the league is on the field as a player. Very few minority front office personnel and coaches let alone owners, tells the real story of a league that has such a high rate of black players.
