As big as the avg o lineman, with world class speed.
Played on s**tty surfaces, rain mud etc.

Played with no hip pads or thigh pads, Never missed a game in 9 years.

Marked man every game, he asked no quarter he gave no quarter. His 1963 thru 65 years were crazy.

Best player of all time. Period

that's were the argument gets lost. when a RB at 230 lbs is bigger than most players on the field, that's not top class competition.

please stop

Indeed.

Jim Brown is considered a potential number 1 player of all time for a reason. Also size alone won't cut it. If thats all it took, Brandon Jacobs should've been a top running back.

With that said, Barry is there, OJ Simpson is in the discussion, LT, Eric Dickerson, and Faulk are my guys.

Barry Sanders the best RUNNING BACK of all time, dominated on a s**tty team, behind a s**tty line, with s**tty ownership, no other running back is close, no competition, end of story, period.

I agree. He was s**tty good.

This is a really tough question. When you look at a 3-5 year stretch you could make a good argument for any of these guys. O.J. was incredible for a few years with the Bills. Earl campbell couldn't be stopped for a period with Houston. Dickerson had his glory years. Gale Sayers had his short but electric career ended by a knee injury. I'll never forget watching that game in the mud against the 49ers when he scored 6 TDs from everywhere on the field. On the ground, in the air and by punt return.

In the end I'll go with Sanders who never really had a bad season playing for a bad team. His moves were from another planet.

You got to watch sayers??
Well...

if you ever do one of these on a FB....

I know who had the best 3 year span all time as a full back

(33 should be retired)

I would like to argue with you over this.... but your just flat out right.

He did get to play in an hyper advanced offense, that set the stage for what would build Peyton Manning's Career tho…..
1. Ricky Watters
2. Christian Okoye
3. Edgar Bennett
4. Priest Holmes
5. Marcus Allen
6. Whoever disagrees with this list is a b***h
Barry for sure
In terms of a 3-5 year stretch I always thought the poster boy of a dominant short career was Gale Sayers, if he played in a later era he woudl've been talked about as a top rb of all time. But my personal vote would either be sanders or peterson. Those guys are probably the best example of elite RBs in their prime imo.

It wasn't THAT long ago.

I had to go with Sayers too, reluctantly.

Mark me down for #6 then. This list is absurd.

I would have said Sayers but his career got cut short. He wasn't able to return to form after the Niners Kermit Alexander caved in his knee. Still that 6TD game on a muddy field was the single greatest performance I ever saw in the NFL.
If we're talking about a short time span, Marshall Faulk comes to mind
