This sucks.

I knew this was gonna be a meh story. Hot chicks get harassed all the time. It's one of few disadvantages of being hot.

sus is always right.

Its also very possible that lawyers got involved so they could stall as rumors mounted up so that the public would then say this isnt as big of a deal. I did that. Others have too. So if that is indeed what happened, their tactic worked.

Another thing is, the article said they didnt have an HR department until last year (which is mind blowing). So there is a good chance that this article is just the tip of the iceberg as to what actually happened.

They can only report what they can prove, otherwise its a libel suit. And we don't know what is coming next. This may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Yep. You are right.

I have no doubt that sexual harassment exists in football. A macho atmosphere like that is a breeding ground for that kind of behavior. I have a couple of problems when I see stuff like this.

1. Many of these things happen at parties and other places where alcohol is consumed in large quantities. (among other drugs). I had several encounters in my younger days where both parties were drunk that could now be called sexual harassment when it was really two people not in control of their senses. We did things we may have regretted later but never sued the other person. It's a different era that we live in now so anything, no matter how small can be called harassment.

2. I hate the fact that they publish the names of the accused but not always the accuser. Until someone is proven guilty, I don't think they should have their name published. Even though most of the claims may be valid, it puts a stain on the name of the accused even if the allegations are proven false. In the public eye, the accused are often considered guilty no matter what the end result.

the name of one accuser is literally published in the first paragraph

And the Redskins had them sign NDAs and now that the scope of the problem is out probably only the less egregious cases are able to speak out.

That's good. I wish that was always case. Two things can happen here. If they go forward with charges the accused can be found guilty or settle out of court. They could also be found not guilty but the accusations will stay with them . These guys likely have good enough lawyers and enough money that they will but their way out. It may be up to the league to take action.

Is this the article?

So, without running the risk of sounding insensitive, this article is substantially more tame than I was expecting. All the reports last night used the words drug abuse, prostitution, paying off refs, etc. None of that was in the article. Also, Snyder and Gruden dont really have anything to do with this article, when the reports had centered around them.

All the rumors kind of diminish what these poor women had to go through. The behavior was beyond inappropriate and I hope the predators are handled in an appropriate manner....but in comparison to everything that came out prior to the actual report, this stuff is very tame.

Where's the paying off refs? That would have undermined the integrity of the league. That was the topic I was most curious about.

I think those checks must have bounced
Nothing crazy. Standard corporate sexual harassment.
Lol, not a good time to be a skins fan. Kind of feel bad for their hardcore, life long fans. This year isn't going to be worse on any other teams fan base.
This is disappointing
I bet Joe Biden loves the Skins too
