Their fans aren't liking the nickname but if they make their mascot look anything like this guy, I think they can turn around public opinion.

It's better than WFT. I don't care what they call them. I don't follow them anyway.

Honestly should have just kept WFT. Had a certain class, with the whole "Est. 1937" thing. And the abbreviation looks like WTF to boot.
I was just typing WTF for the past two years to be honest was that wrong? Washington Team Football. And you guys wait two years to tell me

Don't worry about it, WTF is what Dan Synder has had fans of the team saying since he bought it in 1999 and promptly ran them into the ground.

I kinda see what they were going for, but in typical Snyder fashion, they screwed it up.
Instead of going with the generic W that looks like it was pulled from MS Office's WordArt feature, I would have put the three stars on their helmet from their secondary logo
Commander's secondary logo (image is way to big to embed)
Stars are used by the branches of the US military to designate General and Admiral ranks, and those are command level ranks. That would have tied the logo better into the team name, as opposed to a generic W.

I have some sort of pseudoautism when it comes to humor. I did think I got the joke though. My response was meant to sound dry and/or wry.
