Why do people care about keeping the name Redskins as much as the people that want to get rid of it...

How much are you guys investing in the name Redskins lol

Lol nobody cares about the Redskins, that's not what this is about . It's the pc outrage/sjw culture that is tearing this country apart

I understand the over and overt PC culture can be annoying. But why be outrage over losing the name Washington Redskins. Does it hold as much tradition as something like Merry Christmas? When the PC police wants Happy Holidays instead.

That's what I mean by invested. There are certain things worth fighting to keep as tradition. I don't think the Washington Redskins is one of them.

It's always been this way. One half wants to make changes with good intentions. The other half wants to keep tradition values they hold dear. Neither side is total right or wrong. If you think it's tearing this country apart, then somewhere at the seams, there a place in the middle to mend. Just have to willing to let go and make a bit of compromise. You will not lose all your precious values dispite the fear.

We send our children to school, to higher learning, to take that knowledge to better themselves and the people they share with their life experiences. They are woke to racism, gender and sexual tolerance, more sensitive to their fellow human beings happiness or grievance.

It's ass backwards for us older ones to say-- Stop! You're f**kn with what I know all my life to be.

Like it or not, soon it will be our sons and daughters world and what they will make it to be. We can be old, angry, and fight it. Or trust in their judgments and decisions. Support them. We don't have to give or lose all our values to do that.

Except its not captain righteous. 50% of native americans arent offended by the term. If it had anything like the same connotations as the n word it would have been removed from the franchise a long time ago.

And, on behalf of the entire native american nation, thank you for vigilantly upholding their interests. It was so gratifying seeing you speak on their behalf hat I thought I would try it as well. And wow does it feel great. Nothing feels better than frontrunning the problems of those who are too feeble and incapable of speaking for themselves and representing their own interests. Fantastic. Another incredible lesson I have learned today.

1. Native Americans, those polled or otherwise, aren't a monolith. Do you truly believe it's just non-native Americans that have been driving calls for a name change for years? Come on guy, get outside your bubble of outrage against "PC sjw snowflake!" and try to see things from another perspective. It won't destroy you, I promise.

2. You don't need to be part of something to identify it's offensive. For instance, as you said, if you were to call someone the n-word, you don't need to be black to identify it's offensive. It's an offensive term and defined as such... Darn those PC sjw dictionaries with their political agendas!

Nice post.

Here's one site where people can bet on it
It's kind of sad that racists had to coin terms like PC and SJW to cast people who oppose racism in a negative light. "These PC SJWs, first they take away my God-given right as a white man to use the n-word, now they want to stop me from using another racial slur. I suppose next they'll say I can't call them Injuns, or say 'Me scalp 'um paleface.' What is this world comin' to?"

Bro, you are saying some crazy stuff here.

It doesn't matter if the community is aggrieved, you will act as if they were?

Even if 99% of the people who use the term have no animosity to the aggrieved peoples and have no intention of offending anyone. And not only that, they actually aren't offending the majority of the community.

Of course, the situation is complicated and requires empathic and careful analysis to portray accurately.

But that analysis is as unlikely to come from racist douche-bags as from woke bourgeoisie activists.

Woke joy-riders are more concerned with their own self-justification and internal validation than actually helping the affected communities they say they support. As your statements above reflect.

Woke-ism is not a grass roots neighborly movement but yet another by-product of the Republicratic media machine whose goal is to polarize every aspect of the citizen community with endless tribe-on-tribe conflicts that can only be resolved by participation in the same political system that is the agent for the economic destruction of the citizen community.

This whole issue with the r-word and Native American mascot has been co-opted by various actors such as NCAI, Fed Ex, and Dan Snyder to leverage historical injustice into media grievance street cred for the purpose of advancing their own interests and profitable operation.

Doing so makes it completely impossible to find a mechanism that resolves the underlying issues correctly, naturally, appropriately for the actual parties involved -- tribal citizens living in their homes in the tribal community and a football sporting franchise with a 9 digit annual budget.

Woke-ism is more of a barrier to this process than old farts like myself, in my opinion -- despite my obvious old school archie bunker mentality about how people of different ethnicity, religions and sexual preferences should be treated.
