My take is no employer can guarantee safety, and as million dollar employees, they can expect more testing/safeguards than the rest of us will receive. Like the rest of us, they need to accept that they may get the virus when they return to work, and if they are unwilling to accept that risk, they are welcome to sit out the season while not being paid.

I don't see how they can expect to be paid. If they don't want to play because of fear of the virus, I think they should be allowed to sit it out and have their contract frozen for a year.

This is true - sports doesn't have to come back right now. This thing is just spreading too quick. We need to shut everything down and start from scratch again.
Who's forcing anyone to work? Not paying someone that refuses to work isn't the same as forcing them to work.

Well I guess they shouldn't be playing football in general because of CTE? That's some serious s**t, no?
We got restaurants, target/Wal-Mart, grocery stores, coffee shops etc open in most of the USA. Yet these guys who will be heavily monitored (1,000xs more) compared to the rest of us, are b***hing?
IMO they seem to be out of touch with the rest of working Americans ...like I mentioned earlier these guys are NOT just quarantining at home right now...I just saw Trent Williams in BaJa celebrating his Bday with a bunch of dudes at clubs. You got guys posting video after video working out with other guys etc etc come on now

This...like the rest of us who got unemployment through the quarantine the NFL is gonna give players $150K to not work.

Agreed...sounds like the NFL will give them $150K if they don't play and their contracts will toll over. They won't be fined for not showing as long as they have a letter sent to the NFL by 8/1.
Not sure what's so unfair about that

The NFL and NFLPA need to get some clarity on this plain and simple...it's kinda mind blowing that they've had all this time and we're at this point
The owners need to suck it up and get daily testing/other protocols hashed out ASAP. NFL players are gonna have to do their part as well with what they do outside of the NFL confines.

Really strong FMIA by @peter_king today that begins with a detailed look on how the Vikings will take on COVID-19. He also lists the media restrictions in place this summer and concludes:
